I imagine most clubs scout a lot of players. Wouldn’t read much into it just yet.

Yes he does have a buyout clause. But like ELI I'm not reading into this at all. I'm sure we have scouted plenty of CB's. We ain't paying a release clause of over 100m for him or Oblak IMO.

Goalkeeper without a doubt and a defensive midfielder who can protect the defence I. e. not Jorginho or Kovacic. Pope or Rajkovic as keeper for me but I’m at the point I’d be happy with Foster or Areola.

GK for me. Our CB's are all ok, just not that outstanding leader among them. Kepa is less than ok - he doesn't excel at any goalkeeping skills.

Gimenez is unreal but I’d prefer that money be spent on a goalkeeper and Rice first. Gimenez is injured 40% of the season and we don’t want our best defender missing majority of games but at least we’re scouting the right players.

Declan Rice is a very good player who I would welcome to our club. He looks like a leader but I’m not sure we will ever agree terms with the happy hammers.

We need both but unquestionably need a keeper more as both of ours are championship starter quality. I don’t see the need to sign Rice at the moment unless the club intend to use him as a cb. Giménez makes sense in that Atlético need money badly (as stated by Ed) and he hasn’t been one of their main starters this season so is theoretically replaceable.

I'd say if anything we do need a better keeper or at least someone to challenge kepa. Rice will be an interesting one, if we can get him. I don't know if the club have the finances but hopefully they do. I think if we need a vocal defender get Ampadu in the mix. He's young but really does show leadership qualities. In terms of the current loan I think it was just a bad choice (neither clubs fault no one could have predicted the cb's he would have been challenging) . But he has shone when given the chance and and he fits Lampards type of player as he can play in a few areas. Get onana and tagliafico/ grimaldo and that's going to be a great team.
