I still maintain Frank will be gone in first week of February said this a few weeks ago
The problem I have is 1 his stubbornness to play 433 it's clear we haven't the players for this formation and trying different players in those positions just for the sake of it does seem like a lack of ideas going forward
We are short in midfield with this system so why play it
Havertz clearly isn't a 8 he's a 10
Rudiger over zouma just for the sake of it Frank adhered to this in his interview
Nearly every poster on here said werner has to play this game to stretch there defence with the ball over the top
Yet he played Abraham who is clearly not cfc standard Frank and never will be that's why we got rid of batshuyi same qualityi and you finished with giroud last year
Im all for bringing in youth if there good enough and Mount James cho are the only 3 who are going to make it jury is out on gilmour my only problem with mount is I don't think they have the right players to play him to his strengths at the minute he likes to press hi up the pitch and is easily bypassed not his fault all the time but others need to sit and they don't I don't think he knows his best position could be 10 8 or 6 imo stick to 1 and become a legend of the club as his heart is clearly with Chelsea and that's ffing great
Reece James up until yesterday was my player of the season but he looked so disinterested and lacking belief in the system this might have something to do with cho ahead of him he has no desire to track back and help leaving James very exposed something sarri said because he isn't hazard yet we're you can make excuses because he's so good going forward cho is in my eyes still potential and nothing more
Gilmour haven't seen enough of him just glimpses against Liverpool last year he was superb but yet to see it again but hasn't played much size and lack of pace is a worry
Havertz is such a talent at the 10 role he could be world class if given the right position and support but forcing him to play number 8 to fit a system is criminal and a massive lack of respect for a players talents or complete arrogance and stubbornness in your system
Werner is clearly a player who is suited to ball over top or a counter attack type player not a procession based cf who will hold it up that's giroud so why play him in a team that plays procession football out of position and in a team that doesn't suit his style what's that going to do to his confidence
Pulisic and ziyech are special talents who are out of form with injuries fitness and confidence just haven't clicked I'd say this is 50% lbad luck and 50% bad management because chopping and changing there place in the team builds lack of confidence and lack of understanding with the players around them as they also change every match to so no cohesion in front four or back 6
There doesn't seem to be a team playing together just 11 players running around coz there getting paid
Arteta klopp pep rodgers and many others
are managers who are building or built a great team and a great spirit we're the manager believes in the players 100%and the players believe in the manager 100% we have neither which isn't good for a top team
Silva last 2 games looks like what am I doing here expression on his face so frustrated and bemused at what is going on around him
We have a world class cb
World class midfielder
World class ten
World class striker in werner and even giroud World Cup winner
Are you telling me these players aren't capable of beating a top 10 side with top talent around them in James chillwell mount zouma Dave ziyech
Come on its ridiculous
We have a surplus of great cbs play a system that suits that even play christensen in a two midfield with kante play on counter attack
Play 3 at back with kante as protection
Play 41 41 442 352 anything that's suits the players at your disposal and adapt
Rather than be stubborn to your system at the detriment of such great talent just because you want declan rice
Smell the nescafe Frank before it's to late
And your in lockdown with the rest of us watching it on telly.

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting post and I agree something has to change.

I would also and obviously prefer it sooner rather than later but change means different things to so many people.

Take my view about Rudiger. I think he is a total liability and if other players are fit he should never start but last night with Zouma with injured and Christensen coming back from injury, the options were limited. This is just my view and I fully appreciate other people’s views will be totally different from mine.

A change in manager doesn’t guarantee success no more than selecting James or Christensen in midfield would guarantee a cure fo our problems.

20 Jan 2021 14:02:35
Yes rudiger is a liability which strengthens my point then play 3 with Azpi if there is a weakness in team then protect it that's just basic stuff
Yes I agree Tom change doesn't mean instant success but it's been very clear for a year this isn't a work progress this is just wrong man wrong time
Wrong decision simple am I sad I'm gutted big Frank hasn't been up to it one of the greats of the club struggling is sad to see but I support Chelsea football club not a dream scenario Roy of the rovers ending
gutted absolutely 100%
But realistic to
Ktbffh chaps we will be back soon sadly not under this current setup I fear I'm not even confident of beating Luton haha chins up.

The introduction of young talent to a squad in Lamps first season and achieved what most people said was unlikely, Champions League Football

His second season is almost a reverse of his first season as he is introducing new players to young players and a few players who have been with the club for a prolonged period.

Both in their own way created problems and I definitely thought the process this season would have gone a lot better but I say again there is NO guarantee a change of manager would improve the results.

I want change but primarily I want a change in performance and results. Change guarantees nothing.

As a club we have some good and not so good examples of Change.

It there was a plan and think there was I hope our club sees it to a conclusion. I hope Lamps is at the helm to see it through but I do NOT want the plan to change.

20 Jan 2021 14:38:35
Wondering why the first week in Feb rather than the last week in Jan?

20 Jan 2021 14:54:14
Change is as good as a rest as they say
And if there was a plan I hope they stick to it but not to the detriment of the club and if there was a plan who's plan or project was it Romans or franks or both as Ed01 said tuchel talks a good game maybe Frank did
Some plans get changed for the better no shame in it
Maybe the plan would work better with a different guy or women or them or they for the pc crowd at the helm
The point is and will be Frank has been given all the tools and has yet after 18 months or if your picky 19 games known how to use them
No other manager in top half has got the tools and resources Frank has been handed and still hasn't a clue on how to get the best out of his team.

20 Jan 2021 15:25:10
If buts and maybes don’t cut it for me!

Thera are NO guarantees that any potential new manager would carry on or be willing to carry out the existing plan if there is such a plan.

No one can say things will absolutely get better and as a club we know change doesn’t always bring success.

As I mentioned much earlier today. I think an announcement could well be imminent. So this will probably be all academic.

20 Jan 2021 15:27:54
Just the fixtures in that week.

20 Jan 2021 15:44:44
Do you really think that Tom I think anther 2 prem games but if it's sooner its sooner if it's later it's later but I don't think hell be given another season even if by some miracle he gets top 4.

20 Jan 2021 16:04:38
Christiansen is not the answer in dm. When playing centre back he is too weak, as shown by the goal vs aston villa.

20 Jan 2021 16:06:28
Like everyone else I haven’t got a clue if Lamps will be our manager today, tomorrow, next month or next year.

I am pretty sure something will happen very soon.

If Lamps manages Top 4 this season I would extremely confident about him our manager next season.

21 Jan 2021 04:42:39
Gola I agree with I has to be sooner than later sto save our season ton change doesn't gaurrantee success but neither this embarrassing continuity. u would like manager like Henites whivjniws the club and the leagueaneirbw lwelllast timhe as given think eeim Cha g vwuth young layers of Oscar, hazard and mata I e werepenetrating defenf c e lwuth fluidity . he really understand splayers strengths unlike naive to ank continue to play them out of positions. rwfa please.

I personally believe that Lampard will get it right, if he gets given the time. I think that this is the type of season, most people thought we would of had last year and unfortunately Lampard is a victim of his own success.

The football world is very reactionary, whilst its obvious that the string of results and performances over the past month are not up to standard, the month prior to that we were in a run of 16 games unbeaten, which shows he can manage this team along with all the achievements of last season.

Being 5 points off the top 4 is not a cause for this amount of unrest.

In my opinion, trust the process, trust Frank, KTBFFH!

21 Jan 2021 12:22:26
Ed002 has hinted at changes in Feb - but I can't imagine that would be sacking Frank - you surely wouldn't plan to sack your manager in a month's time!

21 Jan 2021 21:01:17
I don't think there planning it mdw
With our next three league games it could be inevitable or not depending on the results.

21 Jan 2021 22:46:04
I agree MDW. If help for Lamps does come in it would be bizzare to then sack him.

22 Jan 2021 16:25:30
Looking for help for Frank is like a vote of confidence asits I viius he's overwhelmed by The jib it's an unusual thing with Chelsea to try bringing another coaching staff to support the current manager after failingti live to the standard expected that's how much we all wanted Frank to succeed with us but u fortunately it won't go in forever u can see the axe dangling and supposedly so March maybe too far for Frank to puul through unless a miraculous turn around which doesn't look likely he done seem to be able to motivate me lads anymore. no one player can besaud be what we all wanted as a result of the system Frank adopted. i remember telling my friend that our season so much mirror thfor. And fitness if pilulissic an Kante but unfortunately both seem lost at the moment. a change us needed at the moment to salvage our season because we still have the tools if appropriately managed. i mentioned Rafa because he's experienced enough as both in the league and as a manager he did it before with us and in a similar situation. playeded most fluidootballin the recent memory with mata, Oscar and hazard. one good turn deserves another.
