So, the media are reporting that
Barcelona 'in advanced talks to sign Cesar Azpilicueta from Chelsea on a free transfer' . is there any truth in this deal?

Looking like we lose azpi and rudiger, which isn’t ideal but to lose both leaders for free is tough, have you gave us a list of azpi replacements previously Ed I can search, I remember hakimi being one before he went PSG,

I’m not a fan of a rigid one year extension rule.
I think the club have shown some flexibility before but I may have just imagined it.
Anyway, to a certain extent it’s up to Dave.

They showed flexibility I think in offering Luiz and Willian more than just the 1 year I believe, Tom. Think you're right :)
I don't mind the one year deals. Didn't think Azpi would be one to leave it on the table though. But if he goes, bring back Livramento!

I understand the club would only offer one year to "elderly" players, but did they not offer 2 years to Thiago Silva?
One could argue that for the team/ squad Rudiger is the more valuable player to us at this point. We do have Reece James and Rudiger is 28.
Also, Cesar Dave may want to play a few years of football in his native Spain before his career ends. That would be understandable.

I may be wrong, but I think Silva got an initial one-year contract, with the option to extend a further year.
