By the way I have another question (sorry for bothering you) . When Chelsea signed Lukaku hopefully didn't pay 98m£ at once to Inter, are we paying in yearly instalment 4-5 years? Then it's possible that Lukaku goes back to Inter and we might have 70-80m£ to sign some other striker.

Think he means even though we agreed a big fee Ed we pay it in instalments to Inter every summer. So if we’ve say only paid them 20 million straight up last summer we could just agree to sell him back but not pay the rest as he’s obviously back at Inter. So basically we paid a 20 million fee for a season loan with how poorly it’s worked out but we’ve then sold him back.

I believe Ed has explained before that when a player is brought the fee is put on the buying teams books spread at the length of the contract ex if a player cost 100mil on a 5year deal that’s 20 a season however that’s for the books the the money is probably paid in most cases upfront then again I may be completely
Wrong it was a while since I read Ed’s response on how these things work best not to overcomplicate it anyway. If he goes he goes if he stays he stays.
