Any 2 out of Kounde, De Ligt or Kimpembe would be great business in my eyes. Defence would be sorted for years to come .

De ligt is far too expensive: we probably need two CBs, it would eat up our budget.

I will let the club worry about how much he will cost.
I haven’t seen anything about a “budget” and I’m sure we will get some money from sales.
As far as I know our “budget” this season could be a £500mil.
If the club makes the correct investment in quality players and they are players of the right age, any future window spend could end up being less than average. If that makes sense!

Tom, we will have a budget well below 500 mill for various reasons. We have a lot of areas to cover so we need to be smart.

As ED02 reguarly says don't even try to comment on finances.

No PL club will spend more than 200 million and most will off-set than with sales like City who will try to unload Moaning Minnie and Jesus for a total of 100 million. Most commentators suggest our budget will be a maximum of 200 million to be made up with player sales. Tom, there is an argument to spend a lot of money on young world class players incrementally but with new owners can we risk missing out on top 4 next season. We will be nowhere near City and Liverpool and Spurs are spending: not that I would want any of the players they have bought but they have been chosen by Conte to fit his system. Arsenal and Man U will be better and who knows about Newcastle.

Jimbo, I haven’t got a clue if our budget is £10mil or £500mil and it’s not something I care about.
I’ve been saying for months that I think we lose lots of players. I’ve also said along with others that we w replace them with our loan players and some signings.
I think we will need to sign a LWB/ LB 2xCHs a DM at least one wide player a one goalscorer.
I have preferences but I’m not that fussed. Whoever they are, they will get my support. I didn’t want Lukaku but I gave him my sympathy and support.
Other clubs can sign who they like for whatever fee they like, I’m not bothered but I will, on occasion, be jealous.
I only try and worry about things I can control that things I can’t.

I would think Chelsea are targetting De Ligt OR Kounde? imho. Then the other CB option would be a more experienced player/ target. Presnel Kimpembe would be my choice.

I think and hope it will be Kounde and De Ligt.
I’m also hoping we will get Sterling and Dembele.
The DM I would prefer would be Rice but I can’t see that happening.
These are just my personal preferences and I fully expect to be disappointed but as I’ve said I’m not that bothered.

Tom, you may get your defensive preferences but it looks like Dembele is staying at Barca. As for Sterling who knows certainly not my preference. The thing that concerns me about some players we have linked with is that they don’t particularly want to play for Chelsea. Sterling is sulking and wants out of City: none of the top European clubs either want him or can afford him . He wants 300K a week and guaranteed regular football. Raphinha wants Barcelona but the can’t afford him. Perhaps, Richarlison is the best bet of the wan aways. I appreciate footballers are mercenaries but it would be nice to recruit players who want to play for the club. I read somewhere that we are concentrating on defence this window, so Kounde and De ligt might happen.
