Pleased that Palmer has got a wage increase and extended his contract. Well deserved on last seasons performances.
13 Aug 2024 16:09:37
Totally agree Tom, now let's get CG to sign an extension.
13 Aug 2024 16:16:59
CG who?
13 Aug 2024 16:38:43
The lad who is on his way back to us Tom.
13 Aug 2024 16:55:27
Oh that lad, the one who didn’t want to sign a contract.
Good luck to him at his new club, whoever that is.
13 Aug 2024 18:58:19
Who knows he might change his mind after everything that has gone on.
13 Aug 2024 19:38:35
My guess is that bridges have been burned. ?.

Palmer gets a deal until 2033, Gallagher got what, 2 years offered?
{Ed002's Note - They both got offered two years. You really do nothing but share your ignorance on this page.}
14 Aug 2024 11:05:54
Thanks ed for your kindness. Palmer has a deal until 2033, Gallagher offered until 2027. Can you see why Gallagher has 'refused to sign a contract' and do you think that's a fair way to treat a player who was among our highest performers last year? If you think otherwise I'd love to know why.
{Ed002's Note - Rubbish - it is not because Palmer has a longer contract.}
14 Aug 2024 12:49:56
And when did I say that? Gallagher obviously doesn't feel respected and he doesn't feel like the contract reflects his ability, hence why he hasn't Do you honestly disagree with that? Because that's the only thing I've said.
15 Aug 2024 07:46:34
Forgive me if I'm wrong Standard but I'm sure Ed002 has mentioned that CG twice turned down deals in the last 18 months prior to June '24. I'm personally sure those deals would have been for a longer term than the 2+1 year deal/ s ( the club doing good business to protect an asset they did not wish to lose on a free) he was offered in June/ July at this seasons end.
Whilst I'm sure Ed002 has a deeper knowledge of exactly what was offered in each of these, it is unfair for us to ask, and unethical for the Ed to share any details, BUT, Ed002 did say they were offers the club thought fair.
So, if CG rejected all scenarios, there is an impasse between employer and employee which means employee will be sold, rather than leave on a free with a retirement signing on fee at another club!
To you Standard, Conner feels disrespected because he only gets 60,000 pounds per week, get real mate! Most of us are on a small percentage of that and still love and support our club!
Maybe we wait for the Connor autobiography in 10 years time (if his career advances) to find/ hear the truth.
15 Aug 2024 08:57:38
And that's exactly what I've been saying kiwi Pete. The club thing what they've offered is fair, Gallagher doesn't. Gallagher can get what be thinks is far at other clubs. Hence the impasse. Please let me know if I've ever said anything otherwise and how I'm ignorant. I think people just need to read slower.
And kiwi, it has nothing to do with us. If you were paid a lot less than your colleagues and received a year extension when everyone around you got a 6 year extension, would you happily accept it? Get real mate.
{Ed001's Note - nobody got a 6 year extension.}
15 Aug 2024 12:11:21
No but plenty got a 6/ 7 year contract who are not fit to lace Conors boots.
Why offer one of our best players and captain for much of the season less than a 5year contract at his age?
{Ed001's Note - I am not disagreeing. I was just pointing out an inaccuracy. I think it is clear that the club were not really sure they wanted him to stay, hence only giving out a short term deal. Also that Gallagher feels that they didn't really want him to stay.}
15 Aug 2024 12:14:12
It was just a comparison and an explanation as to why Gallagher would be rejecting the contract offered.
15 Aug 2024 15:46:32
I wanted CG to stay at the club but if an agreement cannot be reached between the club and player it’s best for all concerned that the page is turned. Good luck to the lad.
As far as the reported offer of an extension to the CG contract and this might sound slightly strange, I don’t think the club should have offered him the extension.
15 Aug 2024 23:05:00
I think he's a good player tom and captained us well so he will be a big loss. Good luck to him wherever he ends up.

Apparently we have raised more funds from player sales over the last ten years than any other premiership club, roughly £1.4bn.
I have probably moaned about most of the sales but with the benefit of hindsight there are only a smallish amount that still upset me.
