I have just seen a clip of Chuka training with the first team squad today. For me that's interesting.!

For me he offers more than KDH. I just don't understand that signing.
I get that maresca thinks he needs to play more regularly but I think he could have got a lot of minutes if we'd not signed KDH.

KDH has an eye for a pass and he's been unlucky with some attempted through balls but so far the rest of his game seems lacking.
I like the potential of carney and he can move with the ball well and just seems to have that extra bit of quality compared to KDH.

I like them both Carney has probably more flair KDH is a neat compact player with an eye for a pass.

For me I thought KDH entirely unnecessary but all coaches like a player who’s played with them before (Sarri and Jorginho comes to mind but plenty others too) who knows their tactics as it gives them a foundation to build off of in a sense. They can become a sort of coach both on and off the pitch as they’ve been through it all before in on the player side of things and obviously have faith in the manager.

Having said all that there have been some decent moments from him. Some good positions taken up and some nice passes played so far. Seen some hesitancy that I highlighted in the first Servette game (in playing first time balls) but hopefully those things will improve with time.

Honestly though I don’t see him being anything more than a squad/ rotation player given the players we currently have. I don’t see him starting in a midfield 3 out of Lavia, Caicedo, Enzo with others such as Palmer and Nkunku also being played as advanced 8’s or no10’s. Even Felix or even Sancho could potentially play as a 10 or advanced 8 depending on opposition.

If I was the manager I’d have preferred CC over him as he has had his bright sparks in between injuries and he does seem to have high potential. One to watch as the season plays out though as I don’t imagine CC will see much game time unfortunately.
