Big shame for the English coefficient but PSG were the better team over the two legs.

They were Tom, and this is against the back stop of a team running away with the premiership. Maybe we in England are not as good as we thought we were.

They will also beat Villa in the next round.

Bill, I think Villa will beat PSG. I also think the Villa manager is a top tactician and will find a way to stop there midfield.

Correct TomB. Fantastic manager. Took a shabby and troublesome Arsenal team to a Euro final and a top 4. Only to run into the brilliant Eden Hazard in the Euro final and then watch his mob of self serving players fluffing their lines on the last day. Again (if memory serves me ) to the benefit of Chelsea.

London, I can’t remember but didn’t he win a couple of Europa leagues with other teams. Or, maybe I’m just thinking of someone different.

Tomb, again correct. Emery has won 11 trophies since 2014, including 4 Europa Leagues and 1 French Championship. He lost v Chels when Eden Hazard and Oli Giroud ran amok in the 2nd half of the 2019 final. I thot he would have been a good shout for Chelsea. But he was never even mentioned for the job anywhere. For me he sat in that one tier below Pep and Klopp. Being the ex manager of PSG all the ducks are in a line to KO PSG from the CL so it’s not a crazy tip to fancy Villa. However, he runs into a coach that is his equal and a team that have better players. Not to mention PSG didn’t go to Anfield and win to then lose at Villa park. I think PSG will edge that game. But wouldn’t be totally surprised if they didn’t. ?.

I agree Emery is a good coach but I think PSG will ease past Villa and have a decent chance of winning the CL given there is no outstanding team.
