Ed002, what’s the latest with Willian please? He missed y’day with an unspecified injury, so was wondering if anything could be read into that? Thanks.

Lots of talk that Chelsea and Willian have reached an agreement on the contract situation, and Willian could sign a new deal by the end of this week.

I'd be happy with Willian staying, he's showed us his value in the last 10 games of this season. He provides experience and will be good to have around amongst all of our young players over the next few seasons.

Good signing if it's true we need a few experienced players in the squad.
Nice balance with Giroud Azpi and Willian in the squad next season.

There are quite a number of good reasons why Willian should quickly be given an extension but I am afraid that giving him any deal more than two won’t serve the club’s best interest and might prove counterproductive. A lot of them (players’) performance tend to drop off the next year after ‘bagging’ such deal esp at that age (with the exception of Cristiano Ronaldo of course) . A deal with the condition of another year extension after meeting some criteria should be fine for him and the club; for instance, if he plays a certain number of games, he automatically qualify to trigger another year extension.

The bookies as well as a number of journalists seem to think Willian will sign for Arsenal - would be good to know whether the Eds agree or disagree - but personally hope that a contract deal with us can still happen.

I’d be fine if it was strictly a club option. I can’t see a top level club giving him a guaranteed 3 years at the wages I would have to imagine he’s asking for.

A man that wants to leave an unfavourable environment doesn’t go asking everyone aloud, ‘hey I want to leave, should I leave? ’- I think he just stands up and leave.
I strongly think Willian is staying, I feel his agent just wants to get the best possible deal for him- judging from his (Kia Joarbiachim) recent comments on Talksport- about Willian having offers from five other clubs.
