So as per athletic we are going after these targets in summer.

Striker - Haaland, Kane, Lukaku, Martinez

Right wing back - Hakimi, Traore

Centre back - Sule, Lacroix, Torres, Kounde

Midfielder - Rice, Tchouameini.

I’d rather Livramento than Traore. None of them Cb’s fill me with confidence either.

Please let Livramento develop, stop the hype he’s still a kid.

Yeah same as what was thought of James and Mount and now they’re European champions.

Striker and a defensive midfielder is needed more than a wing back.

I think after Mount, James, Christensen, Tammy and CHO helped us win a CL, we should totally give more chances to our academy players.

Liveramento might be a kid, but give him good, consistent chances and he might surprise a lot of people.
He was player of the year for a reason.

Giving him the chance isn’t the issue, the issue is how prepared is he (or will he be) to take chance when he gets the chance. Timing and preparation is everything in football just like in life. Calling a puppy a lion’s name can most times lead to it’s demise, please let the boy develop.

All of those players, other than CHO, had significant loans before helping the club win the UCL.

I'd take Kane, Traore, Rice and Torres. I'd settle for Kane and Torres.

Imo we need a striker and cm with knack for passing forward to break down opposition and shoot for on distance rather than a dm. that rules out rice. we are not in desperate need for a dm, we have ngolo for now except like Ashk21 and tomb who would sell ngolo for rice. as for traore I don't see why we need himexcept the manager prefers him. in an ideal world we should use one of our lwb to get hakimi and cash ideal replacement for ca.

That is total rubbish ilo. I have NEVER suggested selling Kante.

I would like us to sign Rice but mot as a Kante replacement. ’.

Ilo mate, you seem to be fixed on something that you misremembered.
Me and Tom, liked and would like to have Rice with Kante.
I was and am ok with selling Kanté if he wants to go elsewhere, but never I said we have to sell Kante to get Rice.

Yes J I agree that they all had loans, but how many of our players that went on loan and impressed had a real chance afterwards? The answer is not much.
It seems very hard to get in front of a player you have signed for 80m no matter how good you are.

It's almost impossible to break into a top six to ten team, and equally as hard to stay there; as CHO and Abraham are finding.

But I do think certainly James and Mount would have broken in no matter the situation (transfer ban or not etc. ) . If Liveramento is good enough, and I think he likely will be, so will he. But there has to be a route, and the players that have cracked it from youth to first team all had significant loans on their routes; even if others who have been loaned out didn't make it.

TomB, . I agree totally with your retort! You have always rated Kante as No 1 (end of) .
Missed your input after CL final (hope/ know you enjoyed it, as did I) due to your sickness and relocation. Hope things are improving for you health wise.
Seriously appreciate ED 002's recent update on out goings and contractual outgoings re possible in comings, thank you ED002!
Maybe instead of questioning, and reacting negatively on here to ED002's posts, we should hold the fingers and take in what is shared by ED002 (I still remember a little known R/ B from France being shared with us years ago, now a C/ L captain and legend) and enjoy the ever evolving future.
Due to the happenings today, maybe changing tomorrow, there are many things happening behind the scenes which we are unaware of, but, if we pull our heads in a bit, will be shared.
I'm personally hoping we can get Haaland this summer (a good offer now, or 75m sale next year to Real, BVD's choice, money talks, but he will do what's going to earn him the most money long term) .
Ed002's comments that players are now transient rings true, they'll kiss any badge and proclaim their loyalty whilst they're winning, then do the same at their next club if it fits their financial well being.
Like a few others here, I trust (and will support) the club to make the right choices/ purchases to continue our involvement at the elite level in world football.

Alonso will leave, no one knows what will happen to Emerson.
So left winger-back is more likely than right wb since we have CHO.

Thanks Kiwi.

I don’t see CHO as a right wing back and my guess is both Emerson and Alonso will move on to pastures new.

I personally think Emerson should have been given more game time over the season but as I’ve freely admitted I’m not an Alonso fan.

The signings in this window could well indicate the shape we will play next season.

Haaland, Hakimi, Tchouameni, Lacriox.

I don't agree J. If you don't get the chance, you can never really show how good you are and preseason games hardly make any kind of serious impact.

I don't want to over-hype what we have, but we have shown numerous times that we get it wrong with our young players and we should definitely have a better route for them.
