Seriously we need to put our house in order first before before we can attract quality players.
Fifa ban aside, this club is becoming notorious for one coach/ season irrespective of the manager's achievement.
This set up is detrimental to players' development due to the lack of consistency in style of play.
Alonso was a hit with with Conte but became a liability with Sari, David Luis had no chance with Conte but excelled with Sari.
If I was a player that Chelsea courts, I would be worried about this uncertainty and instead chose a more stable club. Just my opinion.

Is this the reason that we haven't appealed - because we knew our No. 1 target was heading to Madrid?

There's not much point in appealing transfer ban if our targets aren't available.
