Continuing with the Pulisic thread.

It's fair to say that maybe he should not have spoken to the media to vent his frustration about not playing much. It now adds further pressure on his young shoulders when he plays next.

Personally Fabinho and Bernardo are good examples of slowly beingbpush into the squad. Flip side could be what happened to Bakayoko who found it difficult and when the fans get on your back it's hard. Unless you do a Jorginho.

I think he's right to vent his frustration, I will do the same thing if I were him.

Really don't know what to think about this whole situation. Trying to put myself in Pulisic' situation, it must be so frustrating to see a player like Mount, who is not originally a winger, keeping him out of the team, Callum seemingly overtaking him although he is three years younger and has been out for a few months, and then Willian and Pedro who are both aging and yet seem to be ahead in the picking order as well, leaving Pulisic as fifth choice.
However, Mount and Willian both seem to be playing better right now, and Callum also seems to be making a really nice impact when subbed on - but one could argue that Pulisic might have done the same, given the chance.
However, all these players are used to the league, except for Mount, but he's played so well. In reality, the only player Mount can really be disappointed about being behind in the pecking order is Pedro right now, and look at the things that man's won. In all honesty, only very few players that've turned 21 one month ago would be ahead of Pedro in the pecking order.
The only thing Pulisic can do is work hard, and if he's willing to do that, he should have the talent to become a very good player for us.
I haven't seen too much of him before his transfer to us, but Ed 01 has continuesly mentioned that he's got a very good work ethic. I am sure everything will work out - right now the biggest problem seems to be brought by the media.

He said his frustrated not to be playing more, but has to keep working to get into team. I think what he says is fine, a player should be frustrated not to be playing, not content with the bench. If he comes out and says stuff like he SHOULD be playing and takes about he didn’t come here to sit on bench then fine but his young, wants to play, should have more minutes in my opinion but it’s about when he gets his chance to take it. I do also think frank has a soft spot for mount. Mount not been great last two games. not bad but quiet and missing in spells, I’d like to see him add a bit of muscle and play in middle beside kante and kovecic other side,

We don't know what the internal dialogue between him and the coaching staff is. However to me it appears he's been taken out of the team to works on his tactics, and acclimatise, away from the spotlight. Smart coaching/ management and, if it's communicated in the right way, Pulisic should take it on the chin. The path he needs to take to the first team in clear.

Someone compared the way Klopp integrated Fabinho last season - I thought that was a spot on comparison, whoever it was.

Very good views guys. Matt I think your right, Lamps does seem to have soft spots for certain players.

One thing for certain, we would rather have a player frustrated at not playing than someone who couldn't care less. However, I do think J has it spot on here. Slow integration into the first team. Fast integration could damage his confidence if it goes wrong. Let's be honest he had a poor game against Grimsby and repeat of games like that would do the opposite to his confidence.

My guess is all managers have players they consider “go to players” and Lamps is no different. When Pusilic gets his chance he has to prove he is one of those players.
