Ed002, earlier Chelsea used to buy renowned world class players in the transfer market.
Nowadays, we are focusing more on younger players like you said in earlier posts.

Does this mean our mode of operation changed?

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what you mean by "mode of operation" - I am not aware that Chelsea has such a thing. The club has invested heavily in the academy system and has managed the loan process well all to the end of bring players who are good enough through to the first team squad. Because of the "ban" on registering new players and a decision made by the club, they have provided an opportunity for a few more younger players to progress - and as everyone knows that it has generally gone well this season. It is what it is and to a large extent what was expected in the "big scheme of things" and the club are very pleased by the relative success.}

And I’m loving it! Even if we don’t achieve our targets this season I pray we stay with the youth and Lamps because I believe in a few years time we will smash everyone in front of us. Also off topic but if we consider selling Kante to Madrid we are crazy and better ask for Neymar money.

I meant for buying players from other clubs. Earlier we used to buy well-established players like Arjen Robben and Ashley Cole.

But your latest list points us moving towards targets who have lots of potential but unproven as of now, like Benoit Badiashile and Raphinha.

I was referring to that.

{Ed002's Note - Arjen Robben was hardly a “superstar” when Ranieri decided to buy him. Ashley Cole was purchased close to 15 years ago. I will be far more careful with any information I provide.}

I wasn't contradicting you, Ed. Just being curious.

{Ed002's Note - It is the usual thing - start throwing up examples from 15 years ago. So I will tread very carefully from now on.}
