Watched Ben Chilwell twice last couple of weeks with us being linked to him. twice I seen him get destroyed in two big games. from what I've noticed if that was alonso and Emerson's performance he would have got slated on this site. not saying he's a bad player just not worth the 60 million + quoted. personally I don't think either of our left backs are good enough for the future and cashing in could be a good idea.

what I'm saying is for the quoted price I'd look elsewhere and not just pursue him because he's English. grimaldo and telles would both be getable in January. luca digne is another very good left back who I've noticed doesn't get mentioned probably because of dealing with everton perhaps. i'm just saying don't spend stupid money when there's better options available. I do like Ian Maatsen but we've got enough youth and should be looking for players ready in the 25+ bracket with a lot of games and experience under their belt.

one player who I think we should aim for in January and this is because of our need for goals and a playmaker. that player is Bruno Fernandes. I think he is achievable too. Bruno is also a fantastic all round midfielder and has a good engine. one thing he has which we haven't had in years is a midfielder who can regularly hit the back of the net from outside the box. low blocks are a massive problem for us right now and someone like Fernandes would give us them goals from distance.

Agree that we could use midfielders with the ability to score from outside the box. I think Ruben might be able to when he gets back from his injury, as he did score a few from outside the box last season.
A player that's rarely mentioned nowadays could be Milinkovic Savic. I believe he's got the physicality and ability to shoot from distance that we could very much use. I do not know how he's rated nowadays though, and perhaps there's a reason that he's not mentioned as much as he used to be.
Regardless, neither Milinkovic Savic or Fernandes are players that Ed has mentioned our interest in, so I don't think we should be expecting them to join in the near future. Same goes for left backs, apparently!
The more I think about it, I think Isco might be a nice addition - we struggle so much against defensive teams, so perhaps his creativity might do the trick?

why nobody has went after bruno fernandes just makes me scratch my head probably the best and most feasable option in terms of talent for what u get without a big auction the guy is genius on the pitch he's certainly a huge upgrade on jorgi in cm.

No club went for him because of the asking price.

And no, he's not an upgrade on Jorgi because they don't play the same position. He's an upgrade on Mount.

Bruno Fernandes would make a lot of sense in that his a goalscorer from midfield, Mount as the moment ( still young ) is superb off the ball but on it sometimes lacks that final decision making which comes with time. BF makes sense as think he’d be cheaper than havertz and not sure what deal with Isco is, offered but does he want to come chelsea?

United went in for Fernades in the summer i think but i don't know why it couldn't get done, maybe the asking price. He'd be perfect for us, goalscoring midfielder who can also create and can run all game. Unfortunately i'm sure we're not interested. Isco, Ziyech, Sancho, Fernandes. These are the type of players we desperately need right now.
