Ed001 what are your thoughts on tammy abraham
I will get dogs abuse but I don't think he is anywhere near ready to lead Chelsea line
Cant hold up ball
First touch is awful
Cant pass
And decision making is suspect
I have thought this for a couple of months now
Plus I don't think Frank knows his best team system or tactics it all seems a bit off the cuff a lot of square pegs in round holes especially in midfield and full backs
Just curious as to how you see it.

{Ed001's Note - he is a youngster, he is not ready because he needs experience and he will only get that by playing. It is all very well sending them out on loan, but the experience players need is only going to come from playing for the team that actually owns them. When it really matters how they perform as they won't be going back to a different club in a few months anyway.

He is very raw, but Abraham is a goalscorer and that is something you just can't teach, whereas you can teach hold up play and technique etc. You just have to be patient with him and he will come good I am sure.

As for Frank, I would be worried if he did know those things now. He should be still experimenting and learning throughout his career, but in particular now it has to be a learning curve. This season is, in essence, a free hit for him, so he should experiment with systems, formations and tactics to get an idea of who suits what best, ready for next season.

What Frank needs is a rough patch, so we can see how he deals with it for one, but mainly so he can learn early, while he is still finding his feet. Then he will find out about his players and we can all see which of the youngsters really are the real deal. Those that are will grow and come good when the going gets tough. Those that don't have it (yet at least) will go into their shell and can be moved on.}

Good summary Ed and one I totally agree with.

Tammy IMO will carry on improving. He strikes me as a bright lad and he seem to be willing to work hard at his game.

Lamps is like a lot of our players, work in progress!

{Ed001's Note - for me Abraham has shown massive improvement over last season, when I really was not convinced he was anywhere near good enough to score goals in the Prem. Well not this many goals anyway. I thought it would be Batshuayi who would have to step forward. So I would say this season was a thumbs up in terms of Abraham stepping up.}

Thanks for reply Ed puts things into perspective appreciate it.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate. It is difficult to show patience when it is your own team.}

Chelsea need a new striker who can provide some serious competition for Abraham who I agree is very raw.

Something that has me ed is frank has said so many times that he wants his wingers to go in behind, make runs, half way through season and we haven’t seen that by any of them, i Get when teams camp in there own 3rd, wasn’t long ago cesc would hit a pass and Pedro from nowhere would be trying to get on end of it, we lack that risky run, and what’s latest on striker front, Werner / dembele linked for a long time and last few days it appears Werner never had a release clause and may be expensive again, were very keen on sancho, we getting anywhere with negotiating a fee.

{Ed001's Note - Pulisic used to be very good at running in behind, as did Willian. But most teams don't give you much room to do that to be fair.}

Well we need options, clearly hasn’t the confidence in michy and Giroud, Barkley can’t behave or injured, Pedro another one not in plans, hopefully we can add some names linked.
