Obviously there's players not mentioned on here, and signings that are a way from being confirmed - Chilwell in particular is unlikely. But, if you look at a potential two players for each role, for next season, then our club is in a very bright position. One name not on the list is Ampadu, who I think will have an important role as defensive, and defensive midfield, cover.

Your post is very good J. ;I think a player in the mould of a Soumare, Sandro Tonali (precisely another defensive midfielder) would make the team stronger and give the team more balance.
Good afternoon Ed; please is Gerson of Flamengo a defensive midfielder? Cos if he is it would make more sense.

I did mention I think Ampadu would be important when we need that role filled. James could conceivably play there too.

Noted J. I don't think there would be need for another signing even if we were to sell Jorginho and Barkley if Havertz was to sign. Well not unless we wanted to completely stump the development of Mount/ Gilmour and the likes. The youth we have are capable of filling the caps.

But then again I'm only a fan not a coach haha.

Is there any truth to gerson rumors then? As its gathering pace.
