Exciting game yesterday.

I think we should persist with a two up front approach in next few EPL games against Norwich, Burnley and sides who might play low block against us, with Lukaku and Werner first pick combo. Perhaps throw Pulisic into the mix - to begin with as sub - when fit again.

Also think - and hopefully TT now seen this - that we need more creative dynamism in midfield for these kind of games - and pace alkl round - than pivot of Jorginho and Kovacic (or one of these and a not fully fit kante) gives us. To be fair to Kovacic, hedoes have pace and dribbling ability, but looked a tad knackered after being the one midfielder to give his all to spark us into some sort of attacking life v Juventus, and he wasn't bad v City either.

As all see and know, Mount makes such a difference, and let's hope RLC can kick on from promising recent performances and become consistently reliable creative force of nature he was before his bad injury. Will hope that Barkley can provide some useful cameos, but hard to see him getting much game time outside of Carabao Cup if Kante fully fit! ?

Chilwell pace on left makes a difference in these EPL games too.

The three points before international break were crucial, United v Everton draw helpful, now let's hope for another draw at Anfield this afternoon, ideally with a couple of players on each side sent off?!

Think v teams like u mention mount could be in place of jorgingo kov or kante, then another behind the front two, like havertz RLC pulisic Cho, some games we need protection but not always two / 3 defensive players, especially as we play with 3 at back and wingbacks,

Agree with you Matt we have to have more creative menace, energy and pace behind the front 2 than in games when we've played with what are essentially 3 DMs.

JBS your opening statement says everything. “Exciting game…. ” something I was beginning to think we would never say about a game under TT. Why? Because he changed the engine room to fit the venue (home) and the opposition Southampton (middling team) . As Chelsea fans we have been fed that midfield trio for 18 months home or away, tough game easy game. TT looks as if he is going to pick teams to actually get the points. I for one am chuffed to bits. Hope Chelsea never go back to Jorginho, Kovacic and Kante with everyone else as an add on.

I reckon we should try Havertz is CM like how City use Silva etc.

Yes this could be the best way to play Havertz Wheely, especially if we mainly use Werner alongside RL in a 2 up front. Silva has been excellent for City this season. Question of who else would be in midfield with KH. Would have to be Mount plus a DM if we are still playing three at the back and wingbacks, unless we switch to 4--4-2?

I dream of us playing for at Back as it gives us many more options further up the pitch.

I can’t see it happening unless we sign some players that work for that system.

TT has little option but to play with a back three with the player we have at the moment.

I rate Havertz very highly but I think he is player that works best between the lines while supporting any frontman.
