Anybody know if it's possible to recall players from loans before the January window? . Not that i'd expect the club to do it even if they could but Getting Broja back and into the team if the injuries are lengthy ones wouldn't be a bad idea. Think he'd suite the team well.

As far as I know Broja is a season long loan, so no he can’t come back.

Injuries happen and we have the squad to cope!

We do definitely, just a shame it's both our ST options that are the ones with injuries. Havertz looked decent playing upfront at times last season so hopefully he can get going this season now. Big opportunity for Cal now too.

What to say about that last night? Routine, slightly dull, the home support was poor. (& please stop singing about Tottenham when they are not even in the stadium, it drives me nuts)
I flick between Havertz and Werner as to who is the more effective. Thot Werner was pretty good. Helluva miss mind you. Hsvertz got his goal so good for him. Thot Lukaku was doing nicely, was a good focal point and would have scored. Mount was good, I like that smart check and change of direction he has added to his game, causes defenders problems as to which side they should be offering him . Silva? A Rolls Royce of a player, Christiansen really good, as was Rudiger and Chillwell. Kante and Dave got pass marks. Not sure Callum was particularly anything, getting concerned for Callum, for me he has no identity as a player. Not totally convincing in anything he does. and sorry guys…. but for me I can hardly watch Jorginho, he is average to awful. (he was average last night) A fit RLC is the way forward, far more dynamic + Chelsea are a better watch with him in there.

Good assessment Stephen.
I think CHO is most effective when he plays on the left flank. He is a wide player, so I think we can't really see his best with the current formation.
RLC has been very very good whenever he has played. If he stays fit, I can see him as a regular starter.

I was also there last night Stephen and agree with much you say. I thought the less than great atmosphere had something to do with the opposition - who offered little but several nasty fouls, not sure how their Number 24 stayed on the pitch - and fact that game as good as over after our second goal.

Malmo fans looked reasonably lively but offered little interesting vocally despite jumping up and down a fair bit. Could have given us an Abba number. Dancing Queen perhaps? or ('this is Malmo's') Waterloo?

Lack of quality of opposition - not sure Malmo good enough evn for lowly rungs of Premier League - Might also explain why Jorginho apart from his penalty conversions was pretty poor on the night, kept giving the ball away in first half. Don't think he thought the opposition merited huge effort, something that has characterised several previous performances last season v 'lowly' teams. Same tends to go for Alonso, who looked so slow around the pitch compared to Chilly. But we do know that both Jorginho and Alonso have also had some v good games for us when really switched on and up for it (in some big matches) which of course they should be all the time.

I did think that Callum and Kai combined well for Kai's v well taken goal, and that Callum chased around with some energy at least. Put through one great ball into the area than none anticipated.

Thank you Stephen and JBS for your match summaries. Most enjoyable.

I always find the views of fans who have been to the match the most interesting.

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend this weekends match. At my age jabs are more important than matches. I’m gutted.
