Personally, I'm sick of a back 3/ 5 now. I think it's served us well, covering the weaknesses we've had in midfield/ defence.

However, seen as 75% of our defence is now leaving maybe now would be a good time to sign personnel that fit a back 4. It's a fresh start, I'd like to see us be more offensive and aggressive next season.

If we could get 2 genuine quality CBs and a defensive midfielder, I don't see the need for the back 3/ 5. Our issues this seems have been with a low block and being outnumbered in midfield. something for TT to think about I guess.

I agree Dan. Time to change the system, at least for the most parts.

For me, the back 3 with WB suits James and Chilwell.

It'll take a special DM for us to be able to move to 2 CBs.

Personally, I can't see it happening next season with Silva still around. We've no other Senior CBs so can still see Silva starting a decent amount of games.

Problem is I think it suits most of the players in our squad. Mendy isn’t strong on the ball and having 3 cbs gives him another outlet and makes us less reliant on him when in possession. Silva is excellent as a sweeper in a 3 but I’m not sure how he’d do otherwise. Our wingbacks are more suited to having the protection of 3 CB’s when attacking deep into the oppositions box. Even in midfield we can get away without having a true holding defensive mid as we have the protection of 3 cbs.

Played 1/ 3 of the season without both main wingbacks.

3/ 5 at the back system was used last time we won Champions League, Last Time we won Premier league.

There is a reason our managers are paid millions ;)

About 3 CBs formations. Most of the trophies in the world football were won by 3 in the back.
Chelsea had problems this season due to injuries and political circus in tha last third of the season+ unsettled players like Rüdiger, Azpilicueta, Christensen and Alonso.
