30-40m yes, 60m no thanks.

I'd say the only way we get him under 50 mil is if he requests a move.

I agree dadubliner, proven in the premier league and would be an upgrade on what we have.
Some rumours about Ake as well.

Oh please not Sterling, I’d rather we didn’t buy any forwards and concentrate on defence and midfield if he is the only one on offer.

78 goals in 161 premier league goals over the last 5 seasons.
Proven.
Knows the league.
At his peak and still only 27.
TT wants him.
Good enough for me.

Why not Sterling, 27 so peaking physically, proven in PL, quick, knows where the goal is and has been learning from Pep the last few years so tactically astute. No brainer if we can get it done.

Better than what we have.

Not saying a lot nib, our wide players G/ A is horrendous, our defenders put scored forward line by a distance.

anyone saying no to sterling is blowing my mind, proven goal scorer and good work rate, he's better by a mile than puli, ziyech and werner and i think he's better than havertz aswell at this moment in time he would definetly be an improvement.

I haven’t had my mind blown since the 70s until I heard we were going to pay a huge transfer fee for a player with one year left on his contract. Sterling doesn’t particularly want to play for Chelsea : if he does let’s test him out, he can come on a free the season after next: he is a diva. You say he’s better than what we have, we’ll that’s a matter of opinion but none of our wide players have had a decent run because of TT’s tinkering. Now we have mention of Ake, why don’t we sign Jesus as well and become Man City’s B side.

Chelsea should sign Nkunku and leave Sterling alone (there’s no future there), sometimes I wonder what is wrong with the people making these decisions.

so jimbo obina you don't want a player who can score 15-20 goals from a wide position? instead you prefer to blame the managers tinkering for our current crop been absoloute rubbish?
There is no gaurentee he will be a sucess but no reason for u to call him a diva he seems a good profesional who stays out of the spot light, maybe nkuku is another werner rippin it up in a bang average league like timo was, and ziyech and pulisic etc,

My only argument is raheem is proven in pl, so why not sign him, i think he's a better player than jesus and more direct than any of our other attackers and can actually dribble a ball going forward,

I repsect both your opinions but and i do think nkunku seems a dream signing stats wise, but so does raheem he has about 120 goals for city since he signed for a winger what's not to be excited about, our forwards probably don't have that between them in their entire careers.

If we get him for 30-35M, it would be great, at least on paper.

I’d love to add Sterling to the squad as long as we also add another player like Nkunku or Raphinha. Don’t know why we weren’t looking at Mane if we are going after Sterling though. Ziyech and CHO can leave in my opinion. I’d be tempted to loan Pulisic somewhere to regain confidence and form because he’s one who could come back to haunt us if we sell too soon.

Tommo, the answer to your question is yes. We are likely to off-load Lukaku at a huge loss and pay well over the odds for a player with one year left on his contract- doesn’t sound like good business. RJ is right about our scouting and recruitment if this is the best we can come up with. I guess it’s fair enough to let TT choose which players he wants but it’s on him, no excuses and nowhere to hide next season . I’ll leave it there, I am more concerned about defensive and midfield recruitment.

i do agree if tuchels players he signs don't work out its on him, but i think he needs to be allowed sign who he wants and outside the defensive issues which im sure we will fix by signings, our forwards aren't good enough and not consistant and the man who been the most consistant mount seems to get questioned by some sections of the fans which is baffling,

What id imagine jimbo maybe u may no better than I is that im guessing what ever the fee is for lukaku chance want it to be high enough to cover his instalment payments, and the other side of it is im sure there hapoy to save money off the wage bill by floggin him, and same goes for barkley, kepa, batshuayi drinkwater etc.

Tommo tbh I don’t really know the financial implications of selling/ loaning out Lukaku would be, I’m just guessing, I certainly don’t know more than anyone else. Obviously if Sterling comes in one or more of Werner, Ziyech or Pulisic will go: will that make us better and make up ground on the scousers or Citeh, I doubt it. Anyway, there is a long way to go before the start of the season: hope springs eternal. Enjoying the banter!

19.) 20 Jun 2022
20 Jun 2022 15:19:16
i think sterling for that absoloute lump lukaku is a great deal and dembele for ziyech will offer us way more in attack and make us more direct on the counter.

Tommo – if we played on the counter that would be wonderful! But, correct me if I've missed something, isn't Tuchel's whole game based on measured (which could be termed 'slow') possession? The Chelsea I've watched tend to stop counter attacks when they're happening and let the opposition regroup. Every game under Tuchel we've done that. Maybe he wants to counter more? But that would seem to be different to his entire philosophy at Chelsea to date.
