For crying out loud DO NOT play Mount and Havertz as wide forwards. Sterling is not a false 9. This formation won't get us anywhere and these tactics is only good enough for a top 4 finish, if we are lucky.

Tom. well this is the thing about TT he is stubborn, he will continue with a back 3 come what may. Also, strange decisions RLC as wingback, brings Broja on and plays him wide, Gallagher comes on for a minute and Kova warming his behind on the bench. TBH, TT is beginning to get on my wick.

Tom, our squad is at least the third best in the PL. Certainly players let us down last season but the forward line was constantly rotated: no one got a decent run in the team; only the defence was settled We had a goalkeeper, who I think is poor anyway, who is clearly out of form but kept in the side . Lukaku was a mistake but TT gave up on him very early on because he wasn’t his choice. Our tactics, whatever they are, never changed. I accept we had injuries but we had a deep squad unlike other clubs. In any event, it isn’t about the players, it is about the system. The tactics are about the manager. So in answer to your question ( partly) it is either the players or the coach. Therefore, TT will have no doubt excuses this season.

We don’t even press as we at the start of the TT tenure.

I have a dislike of us playing a back three but with our current players I guess we have to.

Maybe things will change when we sign FDJ.

Tom, TT said in his post match interview that midfielders weren’t a priority, which when you look at it makes sense in terms of quantity rather than quality. We can’t really justify spending a lot of money on say de Jong unless we let a couple of our current midfielders go. After we get another CB our priority must be a striker.

It's the manager Tom. We are playing really and painfully slow and we are not that great at the defensive end either. All of it is because we haven't addressed the most important part of our team which is midfield. It has been without creativity and energy since we bought Jorginho and it doesn't make it any better when we play Kante alongside him.
I am not sure what's our style of play and what is it that we are trying to do to break down defenses. We have been playing like this since TT came along and I don't think it will change.

Ashk exactly, I can’t discern a style of play whovever plays it doesn’t seem to make a difference and there is certainly no Plan B all does is change the players.
