Maresca now 1/ 3 to be our next manager.

Out of the managers available he was my second choice.

I sincerely feel that our Directors of Football need to widen the search and come up with more dynamic candidates.

{Ed002's Note - They have considered many options.}

Huge huge gamble on someone with who won less than half his last 14 games in the championship and has had no head coach role in EPL or European football competition.

Perhaps he will turn out to be a new Special One but I'd have thought a return of the original SO a better bet to this option. Or de Zerbi for that matter. and most certainly of all would have wanted Poch still in place for next season.

Will current players look up to Maresca? Perhaps if he gets offshore flying start with results. but for how long given his relative rawness if things get tough.

But I suppose he will do what he's asked or told by those above him and won't speak out of turn so. may be given more time than someone who doesn't, and perhaps is a superb man. manager and confidence builder for young players like Poch. I don't know.

Of course if Maresca is appointed I will hope as I would for anyone appointed for the best and would be thrilled to have my doubts proved groundless. But right now am simply stunned by the possibility and thinking . 'how on earth? '

Tom have you seen much of maresca- i have watched him closely and just can't see any way he succeeds at chelsea - he struggled massively towards the end of the season and seems the club want an inexperienced yes man.

Kaz, that’s absolutely not how I saw him as a manager at Leicester last season.

They started off as if the would win the division with months to spare but then went through a very rocky patch. He found a solution and the team finished strong by winning the division convincingly. That for me is good management.
