Totally agree with comments Tony Cascarino has said about hazard sick of all the comments around moves in the summer he needs to start contributing to the team on the pitch he needs to look at himself compared to last years and how does he think he would fit in these so called top teams on current form he would warm the bench he was happy to be a Chelsea when he signed his contract extension

Do think we need to learn from last year and get our targets sorted early and have them with squad for pre season and on that subject the giving team longer rest hasn't seemed to work why mess up a system that traditionally gives us a good start and help put pressure on other teams
Come on Chelsea now the distraction of the window is over let's get 100% behind the team even if we have challenges

I think our slowness in the market was due to the club/board's initial reticence to spend the money on the players that would have improved us. We won the league last season at a canter despite playing poorly from January, and it was probably thought we wouldn't need major signings in order to challenge again. Fast forward 4 weeks, and an abysmal start to the season and the board realise we need the players but we've left it too late to get the deals across the line.
Personally I think if we'd offered Everton £30-40m for Stones on July 1st, he'd be our player.
With regards to the late start for preseason, I can see why it was done but it hasn't worked out. And it was probably decided back when JM thought he'd get his signings.

We had identified our top targets but didn't get them - we wanted Icardi, Griezmann, Varane and/or Stones but didn't get them. We were also interested in Sterling but were unwilling to pay what City paid. We did get long-term targets Nathan, Kenedy, Rahman and Begovic. Last summer we were lucky and the deals were done quickly - this summer they didn't work out. I don't think anyone's to blame.

Remember a while ago on Chelsea TV they were talking about average players not being good enough for us if we want to compete in the league week in week out and be contenders in Europe and totally agreeing
I think we are exactly in that situation now with Cuadrado, Rémy, Ramires, Mikel, Moses and so far this season Ivanović and Fà bregas who let's be honest played well for first half of season them went missing
I know the idea by starting pre season late but the season starts when season starts the player look knackered and are giving our rivals a head start its like we are trying to make it harder for ourselves
I know this is a negative post but really want to get behind the team but don't understand how the senior management don't see it or do but don't react

I was going to say the same Mrs Costa. Terry looked almost lost in pre-season and was poor against Swansea. Really needs to up his game and quickly.

Feel a bit let down the only striker we can attract is a 32 year old goes against the rest of our recruitment policy of young up and coming stars there must be better options out there
1.) He could represent excellent value for money. I've read the fee will be about 1.5 to 2 million. A player like Jackson Martinez would cost more than 10 times that. 32 is pretty old but I'm sure the guy can still perform (Ibra is 31 going on 32 as well).
2.) It's a one year deal so mourinho is still looking forward as he only for a single year. I personally feel a lot better if ba leaves. Eto, lukaku and Torres.
3.) He does indeed represent decent value, plus Drogba wasn't exactly young in his final season, not saying eto'o will ever be Drogs for us but age isn't everything these days. He also has experience at the highest level so hopefully can teach out younger lads a thing or two.

The problem isn't Jose any manager in charge of this team with so many first team players not achieving half of there ability level would have no chance seems to me the only thing that can be put at joses door is loyalty to his old champions I think lack of pressure on the first team for starting positions and no transfer activity ( for starting positions ) talk of Jose leaving should be shelved because I'm sorry there is no one better out there the whole team looks totally out of confidence and some in my option don't look that bothered
That all said this is when we all need to be behind the team easy to support when we are winning

agree with everything you've said I would like to add up front Costa is not 100% convincing with injury worries and also needs to know where the line is with the combative play don't get dragged in to chasing round the pitch looking for revenge and taking your eyes off the game The other two strikers for me compared to other league teams and more so European team are not good enough
