{Ed002's Note - Valencia's Andre Gomes was watched last season by representatives of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Milan, Manchester United and by Vicente Fernandez on behalf of Chelsea. However, the asking price was well beyond anything that would make any transfer possible in the summer. This season many clubs, including Chelsea again, have watched the player but it will likely be Manchester United, Napoli, Barcelona and Juventus that fight for his signature in the summer - and I very much doubt Barcelona, Napoli or Juventus will be able to match any financial offer made by the others without a sudden influx of money - but that may be coming. Napoli and Juventus would need the money from a significant sale in order to move for Gomes without it becoming an unnecessary financial burden - but they are both pushing for a deal. Valencia want a Juventus player in exchange and they think that may be the means to make the transfer happen but Juventus will only agree to that if another player stays but they are talking. The player is open to a move for English wages and if were not for the toxic fans Manchester United would have signed him in January. I expect Manchester City to step back having agreed their first choice in now - and I expect PSG to do the same. Obviously if Valencia hold out for the sort of figure he has in his release clause then he won't be going anywhere - but they won't.}

{Ed002's Note - He is one of a number of the loan players who have been offered a permanent deal by the loan club. Borussia Monchengladbach spoke with Chelsea regarding making the loan in to a permanent transfer for Thorgan Hazard. There is no agreement and Chelsea have told the player that they want to keep him, but if the player indicates he wishes to leave and Borussia Monchengladbach make an acceptable offer Chelsea will not stand in his way.}

Hopefully the clubs can agree that he remains there on loan for next season as well, or some type of deal like that. And I hope Thorgan would go along with that.
Apparently he spoke of wanting stability recently, and I really hope Chelsea give him that without selling him. He's a good player already, and in time he can become a very good one.
Maybe his desire to play alongside his brother one day can make him agree to a loan extension.
Please don't leave Thorgan :(

Thanks again Ed002, I get from you're posts that while footballers are "transient employees" there is a desire from the club to have footballers who want to play for the club and build a team, rather than have exceptional talents, however gifted, that think they are the "bee's knees" and that the player comes before the club. If a player doesn't want to be part of the CFC philosophy let him go and get someone who buys into"our" philosophy. As Athletico proved today, a champion team will beat a team of champions everytime, its not all about the money. Eden Hazaard this year has been a revelation, even when our performances have been "below" expectations cause he is now playing for the team. Matic and Fabregas are doing the same(and Dave, god bless him, and Costa) and I'm hoping that this will see "our" club lift multiple silverware this year.
Yes, I get down like any other fan when we drop points or games, but if we, the fans, believe that our guys want it as much as we do then there really isn't a problem, they are only human, they aren't machines and if they give it all for CFC that's all I ask.
A long rant, sorry guys and girls.

hi ed002, is it possible that Cech will move to Arsenal in January or summer? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - The club would like him to stay through to the summer but Cech wants to be playing. Enquiries have been made by Monaco, Real Madrid (who have moved their attention elsewhere), AC Milan and Arsenal. A move to Arsenal in January is certainly possible.}

{Ed002's Note - Aside from the summer being a distance away I am not aware of any efforts being made for a first team RB. Azpilcueta is a first team L/R back. Ivanovic is there and unless something happens it is tough to see a change next season. Kalas is seen as the ideal versatile replacement at RB/CB for Ivanovic - but much will depend on what he wants next summer. Wallace will be watched in the coming months but I would not rule out him being used as a player in part exchange if he is happy, if Chelsea are happy, if the other club is happy and if indeed a deal can eb done for the player Chelsea want - it is a long way off.}
