Kovacic has once again reminded us all why he could be Chelsea's player of the season this year.
It's easy to get drawn into the conversation about how our youngsters are developing and they will be the future of the club.
I've seen a lot of predicted line ups for next season where Kovacic was not even in the starting 11. The same could be said about Pulisic, when we signed Werner and Ziyech there was no sign of Pulisic as apparently Werner was going to occupy the left side alongside Tammy and Ziyech. I'm glad to see that Pulisic has stepped up to the plate. Kovacic will do the same. Competition is healthy if we are going to be the best.
Kovacic is young himself and is an all action midfielder. Brilliant in possession and very good without possession. One thing for certain, any midfielder in the world would struggle to dislodge Kovacic. He is brilliant, his introduction today at half time changed everything. His such a calm head on the ball. Class player.

One positive of Kante sitting in the deepest role in the midfield 3 is it has allowed Kovacic to play in the 8 which is his best role in my opinion. He’s got a ton of mobility and covers a ton of the pitch, can put his foot in defensively when need be, is probably the most adept passer we have, and can dribble the ball out of tight spaces from deep. Also by having him in the 8 role we are able to have a more attacking midfielder who provides more of a goal threat which is Kovacic’s biggest weakness and the lack of goal involvement is the aspect that precludes fans from appreciating him as they should.

Absolutely shak, him and pulisic were amazing today . Now for consistency, these guys have to keep performing . I'm hoping for them to finish this year strong and carry on next year while the likes of ziyech and Werner settle . The new players will need a season or two to perform at their very best.

I’m a big fan of Kovacic and he certainly made an impact when he came on up until the drinks break and then Leicester did a marking job on him and then he wasn’t as effective. The very best midfielders always seem to make or find space.
I think he will rightly be voted by the fans as player of the season and I hope he continues to improve next season.

Agree with most of the above. At this stage, yet there are still at least 8 games to come, Kovacic and Dave would be at top of my list for CFC's player of the season with Mount and Abrahams (cos of latter's first half of season form/ goals, and he battled really well yesterday) competing for young player of the season (player has to be under 23 at start of season I think) .

Kovacic and Pulisic with the Croatian connection on the left, Chilwell added in could be a very technically gifted fast moving left hand side next year.
