I'm feeling absolute crap and yesterday's result didn't help.
I agree with the post from Seymns. "We didn't deserve to lose but we didn't do enough to win. "
I was please with the significant tactical changes made by EM but I generally am when a manager is pro-active with shape and tactical changes.
I wanted us to give Jörgensen a chance and he made some first class saves but he made an awful mistake that showed a lack of concentration. He will get pelters and the understandable goalkeeper debate will no doubt be raised on this site and the media in general. Personally I will give him some more games before I attempt to Judge his abilities if worth as a signing.
The next three games are very important on lots of levels but I will stick with my premiership prediction of 3rd-5th end of season position, the as I predicted when we were 2nd.
Sacking the manager now would be bonkers in my opinion and I have zero idea if the owners are happy with the performance of the SD's. My guess is the owners will make very little changes to the player manager/ structure side for next season. Part of my reasoning is down to it being almost an admission of failure.

Tom
Not sure why they won't change the SD's as they are quick to change coaches and therefore Maresca will also be in the firing line.
There is absolutely no way the SD's can stay in sitiu.
As for our current no1 GK, he needs to be given a run if game, Sanchez had over half a season making errors galore. That being said, neither should be our Gk's next season.

Sorry Tom should really have started by saying, hope you get better soon.
23 Feb 2025 12:39:04
Tom, to be fair to Jorgensen he wasn’t signed as No 1 keeper. Maresca won’t be sacked for various reasons but if he stays on next season the future is bleak. He is out of his depth and frankly clueless and his interviews are irritating.
Should have said from the start sorry you are not feeling good, I hope things improve quickly and it certainly doesn’t help being a Chelsea supporter.
23 Feb 2025 12:46:52
Tom I agree with your earlier post it could be hell of a lot worse getting to second raised expectations.
We are young side we will get better in the next year or so, agree to an extent that one comment shouldn't derail a season but it didn't help, Fofana although not hugely rated on here is a big miss.
Less convinced by Maresca than Poch or Potter but we can't keep changing managers .

We can sack a coach if he is way out of his depth Seymns2.
Why should er keep a coach whose tactics and substitutions are both dire and indeed are too few hence why most if the first 11 are either injured or absolutely worn out.
Just look at the lack of substitutes yesterday evening g, he just does not trust the youngsters.

Thanks gentlemen for your concerns regarding my health. I have an awful week of treatment but I have not had the procedure done that I was dreading. Hopefully I will get the all clear for it to go ahead this week.
Let me make it clear I am not defending the manager, the SD’s or the owners. I am just giving my opinion of what I think will happen.
A small thing but I find all managers interviews partly embarrassing, boring and repetitive. For a while I found the Jose interviews enjoyable but they just became beyond boorish.
23 Feb 2025 14:50:23
Bill he may well be out of his depth but it is too early to judge, We have had way too much short termism regards managers
I wouldn't of sacked any of the last three we had, i am less keen on Maresca but it is early, who would you replace him with mid season and who would want to come please don't say Jose who is way past his sell by date, think one mistake he has made is not having an experinced no 2
Not sure of the lack of a top goalkeeper or cf is the managers fault.

Seymns2
I think the sacking of the coach needs to wait until the seasons end at which time, if he is available, I would go for Arolia, the current Bournemoth coach.
He plays the way football seems to be hoing rather than Maresca's boring possession style of football.
If mot him, I would go for Howe.
23 Feb 2025 19:08:14
Seymns, I appreciate your concerns about sacking managers but one has to consider the lesser of two evils. Do you keep a coach who is not going to bring us back to the top table just to save face? The real question is how Maresca got the job in the first place his antecedents isn’t impressive: an obscure spell in Italy: won the Championship with PL players by 3 points, lost 11 games and bored the pants off the Leicester fans.
Tom
I am interested is listening to many PL coaches for their insight and observations particularly: Thomas Frank, Irola, Esprito Santo and Eddie Howe. Unfortunately, I can’t listen to Maresca he is full of it and only read what he spouts.
23 Feb 2025 19:31:56
Jimbo, strange how we all see things differently. I find Howe to be the most boring manager in the premiership by some considerable margin! At the moment I can just about bare Slot but I am sure that will change over time. They always seem to me to have bought the same book of cliches!
23 Feb 2025 20:26:05
Tom, true Howe is boring but not full of bulls**t, Slot is doing a great job but l don’t like him.
23 Feb 2025 20:44:46
Jimbo, I will not change my opinion on EM I think he represents himself but more importantly the club exactly how the owners want.
23 Feb 2025 21:57:10
Tom, if EM is expressing what the club wants that is worrying. I have reviewed my posts and realise they are repetitive and, in fact, I am boring myself. The problem is that l believe I am right. I am very glum about the club at present. Like many of you I am a lifelong supporter of the blues. I enjoyed the 70s we were a cup team but very cool a bit like the Kinks not as good as the Beatles. I enjoyed our promotion from the old second division in the late 70s. The 80s were dismal but we kept being referred to as “ sleeping giants “ which kept me going ( and turned out to be true) . In the late 90s we were up there but not quite good enough. Then there was the Roman era. Since the new owners I haven’t enjoyed anything about the club and prefer the times when we weren’t that good .
Vision 2030 is a load of nonsense, what about Vision 2025?
I think I’ve said enough for a while so I will take a break but I enjoy reading all of your posts because like me you want the best for our club.
23 Feb 2025 23:44:43
Think Maresca comes over pretty well but it's alll about results, if I had to go for another prem manager it would be Thomas Franck at Brentford, The Bournemouth manager may be good but he is not that much more experienced than Maresca.
We all see things differently Jimbo the Kinks way better than the Beatles ha ha
It's probably just me but I like the football we are trying to play.
24 Feb 2025 01:48:25
Jimbo, I think I mentioned before that when I consider my feelings of detachment from the club it began when I started to have expectations of our club winning. If that makes sense?
I will also be taking another break from the site (thumbs up) for a continuation of my treatment. Stay safe everyone.
