Good to see gallagher doing well at atleti where he's appreciated. A nice moment where Simeone reacted massively to an emphatic press from gallagher. Great moment. Oh what could have been.

Agree0 Disagree0

He certainly started well but if I remember correctly he went off the boil a bit and was then used mainly as a substitute. I think he came on as a sub last night for AM but I may well be wrong. Good squad player for any team in my opinion.

Cg did not want to sign a new contract so had to leave, that being said, we made a complete hash of things by bringing in JF as part of the transaction.

In essence, we sold CG and then threw the money down the drain.

These seems like someone having a dig. When not knowing the full context.

Connor started well then dropped right off losing his place in the team. He had a good half hour after coming on as a sub. Which most of his appearances have been.

Let's not make it look like something it's not. And in my opinion getting less minutes in a worse league.

02 Mar 2025 16:26:19
And in all fairness the athleti had actually turned on him recently. So saying they appreciate him is scandalous.

02 Mar 2025 16:29:09
Following the bright beginning, though, things have slowly fallen apart and he hasn't scored another goal for the club. In fact, he hasn't recorded a single goal contribution in the league since September and his minutes in the side have dropped significantly. At the time of writing, Gallagher has played just 48% of the available minutes in La Liga with Atletico so far. He hasn't completed a full match in the division since November and he hasn't had much more luck in other competitions.

I always find it strange that two of the best players in premiership history, KDB and Salah were sold by the previous owner and very little that massive mistake is ever mentioned.

Anyway, once they have gone good luck to them unless they are playing against the mighty blues.

02 Mar 2025 17:10:44
To be fair tomb it's just used to beat the new owners with a stick.

They have made mistakes. They will make more mistakes and they will also get some right.

On that the young Brazilian lad willian. Oh my word I hope he can bring that to the premier league ?.

02 Mar 2025 17:24:12
I have seen more of his clips recently and he looks totally amazing.

My question what is his best position? To me he looks like a natural No10 and then it begs the questions why did we buy Felix and can Palmer and him be accommodated in the same team?

Anyway, what a lovely problem to have.

02 Mar 2025 17:55:24
Great problem to have. Opinions differ am afraid tomb I think he looks better on the right.

I would certainly prefer him to madueke. I am unsure whether he needs a year in Europe first maybe at strasburg. But I would certainly like to give him until January to see if he can push his way into the first team.

It seems that kendry may of fallen for his wonder kid status and got ahead of himself am hoping him moving to Europe earlier. Hopefully spend some time with caicedo can get his head in the right place.

Hi cfc-blueblood.

I was just wondering how many decisions the new owners have got right/ wrong.

Transfers, they have brought in some talented youngsters but we have to weigh up how many transfers were not needed or indeed, not good enough. How many were loaned out when they were needed in house.

How well have the owners done on the commercial side?

02 Mar 2025 20:41:29
I will judge th on player signings at a much later date as a lot of there signings are so young.

They have made a lot of early mistakes but my guess is those mistakes will also be better judged over a much longer period of time.

The big thing for me will be leaving from those mistakes.

I have never looked at the commercial returns for there first two years of ownership but I assume they may well be down for this financial year. The test will come when hopefully sooner rather than later they complete some sponsorship deals when we qualify for the Champions League again. ?.

It's all opinionated what you think is right or wrong may not be the same as myself.
Was roman right or wrong to allow salah, de bruyne, robben, musiala, rice, solanke just to name a few leave?

As in my opinion the new owners have made mistakes. Do I believe mount, connor, tammy, tomori, Hudson odi, havertz leave no I don't. How many are doing an amazing job now?

Are the trying to push players on massive wages out. Like sterling, Chilwell yes. Which again in my opinion great. Will either go on to better things now. No. Will they be mercenaries and not leave for lower wages. More than likely. Is that a mistake. Of course it is. Do I want either in my first team. He'll no.

Did roman have mistakes yes. Caused us transfer bans. Paid astronomical figures on players that didn't work out.

Let's not forget roman had planning for a new stadium. And what a model it was. When the government started investigating him and took his visa away. Even before Russia Ukraine he spat his dummy out and pulled out of building the stadium.

Would I change the roman era hell no. So am I will to allow the new owners to make mistakes in my opinion yes. At the end of the day the owners was chosen by guess who. The savour that was Roman.

02 Mar 2025 21:03:25
On a side note you mention commercial side. I think after the club got sanction for having a Russian owner. They have done quite well. Getting the books in order. Keeping clear of psr. Using the laws of the game against the league.

Have they failed with a fos at the minute yes. But as a company would you sponsor us at the minute. Especially when even fans are losing their heads.

Of course all these are my opinions right or wrong.

02 Mar 2025 21:32:15
Conor Gallagher tries hard lots of effort but not top level, sadly we wasted all the money we got for him.

02 Mar 2025 22:07:20
Blueblood, very interesting posts mate. Long May it continue.

Seymns, I agree on your player assessment. I didn’t understand the signings of Felix and KDH but
that doesn’t mean I think they are bad players.

02 Mar 2025 22:59:47
Tom, it’s not just Felix and KDH, Sancho and Neto can be added to the list. It’s not a question whether they are bad players, none of them have improved the team and they are just not good enough. Sadly, the same has to be said about the head coach.

03 Mar 2025 01:03:04
Jimbo, Neto and Sancho are on your list not mine. I have said many times that I would have signed Neto all day long.

I also think the manager needs to given more time before I make a decision on his ability.

03 Mar 2025 07:37:39
Neto will be top quality and if Sancho doesn't work out we will sell him for a profit.

03 Mar 2025 08:23:35
The season is coming to a close and the only thing that we know is happening is that the club will still be here, the rest, who knows.

03 Mar 2025 09:57:43
That can be said about any club. Seems a very strange statement.

03 Mar 2025 10:54:42
More so whith ours I'm sorry to say.
