Here's a question for posters. Given Delap's release clause, which could be considered a bargain (£30m bargain, what a world we live in), would you rather sign him and a left winger for £85m, or Ekitike / Sesko for £85m and a cheaper (£30m) winger?
Personally, I'd take Delap and maybe look to spend big on Rogers from Villa.

delap and a winger he gives us a totally different option up front, he's that costa/ drogba physical player we have lacked so much, think he could thrive in this squad and will get double the chances he's had at ipswich, id go get williams or rodrygo.

Yeah, Rodrygo would be my number one choice, but I expect he'll stay at Real and all this transfer talk is just his agent doing agent things.
Williams, good player no doubt, but just five goals and five assists in La Liga this season, which isn't amazing for the fee and wages we'd be paying. Especially when Rogers got eight goals and ten assists in the EPL.

I would suggest that the CF is Delap and the winger is Gittens.

I always thought Roger’s was more of an AM? Not sure if he’d be alright out on the left. I think ST is the more important position though so would spend bigger there. LW is slightly light but we have a lot of wingers in general and both Estevao and Paez can play on the wing too so getting one in would depend on what happens to Sancho, Mudryk, Madueke, Felix and Nkunku. I know Felix and Nkunku are almost certain to leave and Mudryk most likely banned but if both Sancho and Madueke stay I just don’t really see space for another incoming winger.

If its Delap and Rogers we would be a Man City youth based team with Palmer Lavia and Sancho
Don't think we need another winger or midfielder with the Brazillians arriving an experienced forward Groykeres would be my choice if not possible would spend the remaining budget on a world class keeper.

I like Gittens, I'm not fully on board with players from the Bundesliga, but wouldn't be complaining.
It's definitely looking like Delap's the man for the striking role though. Big and strong presence up front, can hold the ball up, bring others into play, spin defenders if they get too close etc - I'm keen on this signing.

I think Delap has immense potential J though obviously has only had one season in EPL plus scored 12 goals I think but for struggling side.
My dream was Gyokeres who has scotred 68 in 66 games for Sporting PLUS a hatrick v City in Champions League. But seems we may miss out.
