Particular congratulations to the Chelsea owners for not listening to the boo boys at the bridge and on social media. They could have easily done the semi popular thing and sacked yet another manager but they held there nerve and kept faith with there plan.
I hope EM continues as our manager for many seasons to come.

I wouldn't get too excited tbh- solid season but that first half yesterday- tactics and selection showed Maresca has a lot to learn, thankfully second half and a bit of palmer quality helped change the game.
A big summer coming up- looking forward to seeing estevao and santos hopefully joining the squad.

Kazblue, that really is the point, he appears to be learning and is now showing some more tactical flexibility. I thought we were far more pragmatic towards the end of the premiership season and again last night he made a very obvious and important change.

I think he tried to do the right thing using the some of the players that have been playing in conference league.

The bigger issue Tom is that he keeps getting it hotribly wrong to begin with…but no point complaining he's bought himself a bit more time…looks like delap deal is done another work in progress potentially decent player…. Potential FC has a nice ring to it.

Delap a very decent prospect but clearly still relatively inexperienced at top level when many of us would love proven goal. machine in form of a Gyokeres or Osimhen. But perhaps neither affordable or would not fit our wage structure though that surely more true of Osimhen than Delap?
But clearly Delap well known to both Maresca and Palmer from City academy team days so could be a relatively smooth transition for the lad and after one reasonable season in EPL already having scored 12 goals for struggling ( except against us! ) Ipswich sude.

My issue is we have endless prospects and talents …woyldve liked to have seen someone ready to go and in their prime…but those days are gone and we’ll repeat the cycle of sign unproven/ inexperieced until we unearth a couple that are decent.

kazblue, I agree with you, not just players, coaches as well. Next season in the Champions League against the big boys we will get found out unless we bring in some top class players who are ready to go.

I meant to say more gtrue of Osimhen than Gyokeres in terms of wages and probably fee itself. I thi k Gyokeres is only on c 40, 000 a week though it's rumoured Arsenal are offering a 110, 000 a week contract.
NBut Gyokeres has scored 68 goals in 66 outimgs for Sporting with large number of assists plus something like 15 goals for Sweden in 23 games. His all round performance stats re accuracy of passing absolutely stellar. Sweden's answer to Norway's Haaland but even better?

How are you righting off the team we have before we even kick a ball.
30 May 2025 06:15:58
The so called young team at PSG seem to be doing ok in the champions league this season.
30 May 2025 07:05:11
No one is ' writing off' the team we have but perfectly OK to suggest further improvement possibilities especially if we want seriously to challenge FOR EPL title plus Champions League next season not just in two or three seasons time
Adding further fire power andcquslity in key positions surely key to that.
30 May 2025 10:16:09
Just a small question. Is there a reason why Utd aren’t being heavily linked with Gyokeres?
30 May 2025 16:16:17
JBS, quite right. We won’t be able to have a B squad in the Champions League if we want to make the cut.
30 May 2025 18:00:18
But we can have a “B” squad for domestic cups and some CL games.
31 May 2025 09:16:13
PSG have a young squad but also have an experienced spine in their team, Donnarumma, Marquinhos, Hakimi Dembele .
