Interesting squad for a competition that is going to be physically demanding.
Noticeable how few players who were out on loan are in the squad.
I still think the competition favours a South American team winning the competition but I suppose PSG and Real will be favourites.

What I find rather telling Tom is that we are only taking 28 players when we could of selected 35. Thinking back to last season Maresca was quite adamant he wanted manageable numbers and created the so called bomb squad to help with that. I felt at the time it was a message to the sporting directors to stop just buying players and loading them on me! he then followed that up by binning a number of players in January in another clear message to the sporting directors which read "I don't want this lot, over to you and get rid of them". Now, yet again, by leaving out those same players he is clearly saying "they will not be part of my squad, get rid of them". It is good that he is starting to get a say on things and is building "his squad". We can say with confidence that all the players not selected will not form part of next seasons plans with the exception of Fofana.

RPD, I must admit given the likely match conditions I would have thought you take as many players as you can, particularly for the early phase.
I have no idea if you can add academy players without naming them and I’m also not sure about the allowable substitutions. I assume there will be regular water breaks.
As far as potential player sales are concerned I think I counted 15 players who are likely to be sold or loaned. The team back at the bridge are going to be busy.

Will be out early and tho that’s negative why Nkunku and BB and DHall makes no sense another competition that were in and playing at it sooner were out the better same old Chelsea get the money and go I think we have got 5 keepers in that list yet we tried to sign a new keeper? Mind boggling.

Nibb, I can only assume that you are drunk. Your desire for the team you support to be knocked out of any competition is strange.
The three players you mentioned were all in our first team squad for last season and unless an offer comes in to buy them, they deserve to be in the CWC squad.
Haven’t got a clue what Chelsea showing an interest in another keeper has to do with anything.
I also haven’t got a clue what “same old Chelsea get the money and go” reference is all about.
My suggestion is, when you are under the influence, hide your phone.

How on earth can you not understand a supporter who says he wants his team beaten? I don’t think in anyway my. comments are personal, other than addressing it to Nib. If I thought they were I would be mortified.

Of course my comments were personal to Nib, hence the reason I addressed my post to him. I think Nib knows me well enough to know I would try never be rude to a poster.
I support whoever I want. I have not wanted the manager sacked, I have not wanted the SD’s sacked and I, like lots of others, am happy with the owners player investment.
To refer to positive posters who agree with comments that are positive as “happy clappy” is fine by me and obviously the reverse is true. If posters agree with blame, moan and sack comments that’s up to them and also that’s fine with me.
I trust the Ed’s to do there job and it’s not a job I envy. I seem to remember one the Ed’s saying that sites get busier when there are things to moan about. Mind you, my memory isn’t what it was!

Tom, fair enough. The transfer window opens again next week. No doubt you’ll see plenty of moans from me regarding some of our proposed signings. Some names mentioned have already caused handfuls of hair being pulled out.
