Ed001, you've got an easy job on the Liverpool site, not surprisingly, everyone is very happy. Liverpool have made smart signings so far to improve their squad as have Man City. I can't see beyond Liverpool or City for the title, especially as they have top class coaches. i expect Arsenal, Chelsea and Man U to spend big in the window. The quality of signings will be crucial. It will be important season for Amorim, Arteta and Maresca. I'd be surprised if they are all in post at the start of the following season.

{Ed001's Note - it's not that easy as we now have the 'I told you so' snide comments bickering with those who were not expecting much. It gets very tetchy at times over nothing.}

Ed001, fair enough. It gets very tetchy on this site too, as you can see. I could say more but I don’t want to start a bun fight, I would prefer a peaceful weekend.

{Ed001's Note - yeah, it doesn't seem to matter how well a team does, the sites always get tetchy at times.}

I just think the reason is that fans have differing views.

Some will see positives others will point out issues that they feel are wrong and need fixing.

Bill, spot on mate and long may it continue.

We are all only guessing so things are rarely what they seem and very rarely the issues are black and white.

Posters get criticism for being negative and criticised for being positive. Of course the opposite is equally true.

I think you are right Jimbo, Liverpool will be the team to beat. City will be also be strong but I expect them to get a heavy points deduction so that will set them back. Arsenal are starting to look a bit Spursy to me so don't really see them kicking on. As for ourselves I think if we can start taking a few more of the many chances we create then we challenge. A big if of course. Our midfield options are as good as any in the league and our defence and dare I say it, keeper, looked quite solid towards the end of the season so maybe 2 or 3 key signings and we might surprise you and few others and finish 2nd.

RPD, as I mentioned in a previous post, the scouser recruitment so far has been impressive although I’m not totally convinced about Frimbong, who for me can blow hot and cold.
I agree with your City comment but I now have little confidence in the authorities coming to there judgement (whatever that is) anytime soon.
The Gooners have signed a top class midfielder and if they get Sesko I can only see them being strong title challengers.
I think we will be in the mix but it’s going to be a tough gig, as it should be!

I agree that midfield is our strongest point but still have concerns about our defence. I don’t think Arsenal will go Spursy. As for the Man City issue they might get off, who knows, whatever happens that saga will run and run. In any event, I want to achieve things on our own merit.

Liverpool have bought Wirtz which improves them however we thought that when we signed Werner. Frimpong is a replacement for TAA who they got £8mil for so either have maintained quality or have gone backwards on this deal.

The talk is all about Wirtz but we too have a very exciting youngster coming to us after the CWC in Estavo.

I believe a few good sinings in the right positions will mean that we are right up there with Liverpool, Arsenal and City.

I find myself agreeing with Bill here again. The key though is signing 2 or maybe 3 top players who really take us up another level.
