Just me thinking out loud but I was wondering if it might become financially beneficial to Villa and Chelsea to buy a player off one another.
There manager seems to like Felix as a player and we are reportedly interested in Rogers.

They can have Felix Tom but I fear they want Jackson as well and are prepared to pay vast sums to get him.

RPD, I would like to think the club would want to keep Jackson but I guess it might depend on how the player sees playing opportunities at another club.
Also, if reports are true and Petrovic demanded 1st choice guarantees before the CWC then that is disappointing.

I too was very disappointed to read that Petrovic was demanding 1st choice guarentees Tom. As regards Jackson he will miss the first game of the season due to his suspension after the petulance he displayed at Newcastle and if Delap performs well he will retain his spot and I just can't see Jackson being "a team player" on the bench? he will be all sulks and just like Noni and Nkunku so I think the club will allow him to leave if a good offer comes in and we could then pursue another striker who is prepared to compete for a starting place as Delap is prepared to do.

RPD, I have no idea about Jackson’s personality or if he is a “team player” but he always seems to be angry when he is substituted but I like that sort of attitude from players who get hooked.

I too don't mind a player being angry with the gaffer for being hooked but always acknowledge the player who is taking your place on the pitch. A real lack of respect when that doesn't happen. I might be wrong but I have Jackson and Noni in that "sulky" bracket.

RPD, us fans only see there faces when they are hooked or when the cameras show them in the dugout.
I agree about showing respect to the
Player who is coming on and I always like to see the hooked player applauding the fans as they walk off.

Very true Tom and the media spotlight is insane on these young players. I thought the "million pound bottle jobs" comment from Gary Neville was in poor taste after the horror show against Liverpool under Poch but I guess that it was they are paid for.

Players can’t demand to start but I can understand Petrovic or for that matter any goalkeeper if the other choice is Sanchez. I don’t know what Jackson has to be angry about he has had no competition; if he is subbed it it because he is playing crap.
19 Jun 2025 18:26:32
I’m really not sure how this “Jackson is angry” theory has come from? If he is subbed it could be he isn’t playing well or it could be tactical or it could just be player rotation.
Petrovic may well consider himself better than Sanchez, Jorgenson or Pinders but history dictates that Chelsea as a club do not give player guarantees and for him to supposedly say if he is NOT first choice he ain’t going to the CWC then he can do one as far as I’m concerned. He may well turn out to be a top keeper but show some respect.

Tom, no top clubs give players guarantees about playing time ( actually that’s probably not true, it would depend on the quality of the player) . I would describe Jackson as sulky another player who thinks he is better than he is. Jackson and Sanchez are bang average and are not the type of players who can bring us to a higher level.

Jimbo, I have no idea if Jackson is “sulky” or “angry” but I’m happy that he never looks happy when he is substituted.
I’m not sure how the supposed demands and attitude of Petrovic about attending the CWC have got to do with a singular goalkeeper. I would think and hope that Jorgenson and Pinders are both hoping to be Chelsea’s No1 keeper but they are looking to prove how good they are in this competition, training and next season’s performances.
I would also suggest that the performances of Jorgenson last season were generally ok and better than Petrovic’s the previous season.
I repeat, if it’s true about Petrovic making pre competition demands then as far as I’m concerned he can leave. He may well turn out to be a very good keeper and another player we regret selling but these things happen.

He shouldn’t have to demand he’s the better goalkeeper 100% he should be straight in unless we buy the guy from Milan.
20 Jun 2025 14:13:04
Has he proved himself better than Jorgenson in the premiership? He was average when got his chance at that level but he apparently played well in France.
If he is so confident in his own ability to be No1 keeper, he shouldn’t have a problem proving it at the CWC on domestic competitions.
