Is anyone else worried that Sterling is going to become our new Bogarde? Clearly no where near good enough for the team and will just be happy to be sat in the reserves taking a huge wage packet.

My guess is, a club will take him and Chilly on loan with us subsidising there wages.

Utd will have to do the same with a few of its players and probably City with Grealish.

It is rather sad when this happens to players who had been at or mnear the top for part at least of their career. you're probably right Tom about Sterling and Chilly but you'd think one or other of them might attract attention from US league or even some Saudi sides perhaps? Do you/ we know when theor contracts with us end?

19 Jul 2025 11:51:50
JBS, both their contracts expire in June 2027. The annoying thing is that the club extended Chilwell’s contract in 2023. Between them they cost the club £525K a week. I could buy a new car for that.

Tom, I don’t care about other clubs problems in shifting players ( as long as it is not to us) .

Tom and I often say football is a funny old game. Can you imagine in the private sector a company moving on an employee who was under performing to a different company and subsidising his wages. That said, from my experience in the Civil Service that is common An employee who is hopeless or has behaviour issues are generally moved to a different department/ site and/ or promoted. The difference is that it is taxpayers money and not their own.

Jimbo, why would you think i “care? ”I’m just pointing out that other clubs have to manage similar situations.

19 Jul 2025 13:51:19
Tom, as I said, I’m only concerned about our mistakes not any other clubs.

I am fed up with so called pundits dissing our World club cup win: first of all they said we would be thrashed and now they are coming up with rubbish about why we won. Nicol andGarragher prime culprits. Garrragher a player who scored more own goals than he scored against opponents. Get used of it we’ve got the badge for 4 years.

19 Jul 2025 18:36:04
Totally agree Jimbo, if Scouse or Arsenal or Man U had just won it Sly Sports and the rest wouldn't stop mentioning it! Nichol, Murphy and Carragher are indeed the prime culprits. As you rightly say, we can sing loud and proud for the next 4 years.

RPD, Nichol suggested we won it because of the pitch?. Carragher was a useless lump of a player and how he gets to pundit amazes me; he has the brains of a rocking horse.
