Good luck to Pinders. I hope his loan goes well at Strasbourg.

I just hope if he does well Tom, he demands to leave like Petrovic, it's a real worry that we are seeing a mirror image of a certain GK then went to Madrid.

Yes and an am sure we all hope that that Paez loan there goes well too Tom. sort of an echo of Petrovic and Santos loans there last season perhaps but with both Paez and Pinders making it back to the Bridge.

I guess to a certain extent these things are out of our control. If a player wants to leave, just let them leave.

I'm sure you're right Tom but one can hope that these two perform so well on loan that the club wants them to stay because manager and SDs believe they can be an important part of the first team squad, and that the players having signed for us in the first place would want this. This appears to have been the case with Santos at least, albeit Petrovic not deemed good enough to displace Santos and/ or become a long term number 1/ GK for us.

Am sure they know better than me but would of liked Penders to stay but I don't think Sanchez is good enough when it comes to playing out from the back
Mike.

seymns2: I think Sanchez has recently gained more confidence and improved in terms of shot stopping and long ball distribution. But I agree that he still worries me too when ball at feet and playing out from the back. I also think he gets his positioning wrong quite often when opposition attacking his box in open play and this was evident even amid some of his great saves in CWC final. But I guess we expect Maresca to start with him next season - given RS seems to be ahead of Jorgensen did do well in CWC final and we've sold Kepa and Petrovic - unless the club brings in a proven better bet before then.

I think the loan for Penders is the right call, the lad is 19 and a year in the french league will do him good. Petrovic wanted to be given elite status and was quite rightly told to compete with your team mates and let's see who starts as our number 1, that attitude is all wrong unless you are world class so that ship has sailed. IF Penders is the answer long term then I think Sanchez will start the season as our number 1.
