Spurs doing a Spursy very early in the season.

RPD, you can always rely on Spurs to be Spursy. TBH, pleased with the result yesterday but not the football or performance. The so called big clubs, including us, have been very inconsistent and uninspiring. Like last season I think the best of a bad bunch will win the title. None of the PL clubs are good enough to win the Champions League.

Totally agree with you Jimbo about the so called big clubs and the premier league but I do think FFP is levelling things up as well. A few on here were ultra critical when our 10 men lost 2-1 away at Utd yet that same Utd go to scouse, who did spend half a billion in the last window, and beat them. The league is very level. That said, if we can get our big hitters back later this season we might just surprise a few? ED01, what is your take on the quality of the premier league and who is most likely to win it?
{Ed001's Note - the quality has been surprisingly poor this season, even Arsenal at the top do not look a particularly good side. However, that is probably more about them doing just enough to win. They have the best squad but are hindered by their manager, which is the one thing that makes me think they might not win it. City have messed up bringing in Lijnders, which makes them much weaker. It really is anyone's title this year.}

Agree with you Jimbo and best of a bad bunch this far are probably current numbers 1 and 2 ie Arsenal and City. Liverpool struggling at the back plus with Salah out of sorts and Slot in terms of sorting out best combos and positions for all the highly talented and immensely costly new purchases. dome pressure on him there plus with last four results. But LFC could have fine second half of season saybonce he foes.
We have so many injured including our two best left CBs. both Josh and TC more naturally right CBs. Plus injury to Delap and Jackson departure has meant Pedro leasing line when surely he is more of a 10 though posdibky Guiu will be given more match time as striker. Anyway it is still very early days of course.

A few of my Liverpool mates are already saying Slot is the problem ED01. What is your view on him?
{Ed001's Note - I would say that he is currently part of the problem, but the change from Heitinga to van Bronkhorst as his assistant is more of an issue.}

Apologies for yet more typos that happen particularly when clumsily posting from my mobile but had meant to say that KFC may have a v good second half to season once ricj array of newcomers bedded in plus he has sorted out best loine-up and combos for each position.
LFC beaten by United but let's face it 'narrow margins' and luck can play a big role in individual results and Gakpo did hit the post for them no less than three times plus issed a sitter of a header.
But yes all of the top sifes seem to have their weaknesses - some like us unluckily increased by injuries to key players but other sides suffer in this way too - and the table even at this early stage points to probable openness of race for title and top 4 this season even if AFC slightly better placed and with a deep squad.
