Strange I thought we finished fourth in the premiership and therefore qualified for the champions league as well as getting a fluke 3-0 win over the European Champions to win the club World Cup and now being able to say “we’ve won it all” by winning the conference cup.
Thank god we’ve got a lucky manager!

Although a lot on here won't agree Delap's injury is a big blow, we have an unlucky season with injury's.

Big blow. How so. He has barely played since we signed him.
Don't get me wrong I love him. He is like an old fashioned battering ram. But his contributions so far are low. So I don't believe its a big blow.
Cole palmer on the other hand. But apparently he's not injured. They just don't want to risk him.

Let's see, we don't risk Palmer, Lavia, James, Fofana, Badesheil and next season if Maresca is still here you can add Colwill to that list.
That will be at least five first team players that are starters.
You can't challenge for major honours carrying players, they might be really good players but unless they are playing for us on the field.
Going by that qe might as well get Messi, And Ronaldo, they could not play many games but we can leave them out of the squad for most of the season to save them.

Delap hasn't really had the chance to get into rhythm due to injuries and that stupid red card. But in my eyes a miss, the centre backs should not be rotated pick two as your first choice and play them in all the prem games if they aren't injured.
On the injury front in someways the saddest is Lavia, innocuous looking muscle injuries keep him out for ages severley weakens the midfield options.

It’s a squad game. The manager has had to manage players who have had long term injury problems plus we have had suspensions.
We have no idea what the medical team are advising but as usual we have all suddenly become experts in health and fitness.
When Colwill returns of course his playing time will have to be managed. This is normal for all players returning from injury.

The trouble at the moment Tom is that the players are returning from injury and then getting injured again, it's just risnse and repeat, that is despite the rotation Maresca has brought in.
Maybe the club should look at the training process.

Bill, things looked to have generally improved on the injury front from last year. We have had more suspensions this season and that hasn’t helped but rotation is going to happen. If the squad is good enough is a different argument.
