Marc Guehi to Man City for £40 million with Chelsea receicing 20%, another £8 million banked and a smart bit of biz by the club. These sell-ons do work.

I’m only guessing because I haven’t seen the term and conditions of his contract but I would think we get 20% of the difference between what we sold him for and what Palace sell him for. Obviously I would be happy if it is £8m ish.

I would be happier if we signed Guehi for ourselves.

I wasn’t sure about him but he has impressed me more over the last year.

I beleive you are correct Tom, it is the difference between what we sold him for and what he is being sold for now.
16 Jan 2026 16:24:11
Being reported it is 20% of the total fee Tom but only the bean counters should care about that. I'm more interested in whether Cole Palmer and Estevao can both start together tomorrow, now that will be good to see.

City have made two smart signings that strengthern them with Semnyo and Guehi. Will we strengthen at all in this window?
16 Jan 2026 17:24:49
we could do with guehi at the moment tbh. or any decent cb tbh as opposed to the jokers we currently have playing there.

My god it really is tiresome the posters who post positive things ONLY to have a knock at posters who don't agree with the clubs direction. Be positive if you like but doing it to antagonise people is truly pathetic.
16 Jan 2026 19:32:18
Standard, I assume you agree the reverse should also be true.
16 Jan 2026 21:05:55
JBS, agree City have made two smart signings who are Premier League proven. They are a club with ambition to win trophies and, of course, they can attract players because of that and Pep as manager.
16 Jan 2026 21:41:09
I'm hopeful that all posters will agree with you Tom.

Absolutely tom.
