Not Chelsea related but as one or two on here saw Spurs as a bigger club than ourselves I thought I would pose the question to ED01, If a club the size of one of the "so called big 6" was relegated what sort of an impact would that have bearing in mind the huge costs they have with wages etc?
I see Spurs have a debt of nearly half a billion just in unpaid transfer fees, plus the billion odd still owed on the stadium which together with the loss of TV revenue etc would surely impact, particuarly if they didn't go straight back up?
The same too with either ourselves or Man City if a points deduction for financial irregularities occured meaning relegation?
{Ed001's Note - it could lead to a downward spiral if they make a mess of it. They would need to sell players quickly or they would be taking a huge risk of going into administration. If managed correctly and they came straight back up, it could act as a cleanse of excess, but it is most likely they would hit severe financial difficulties and end up like a Derby County etc and drop down to League 1.
The financial ramifications are huge and would grow the longer they are outside the prem. The upkeep on the stadium alone would put them in trouble as ticket prices would drop as well. Spurs would also suffer as there are more games in the Championship, which means less dates available for renting out the stadium for events to earn more money. It could genuinely kill them as a club.}

Thanks ED01, a worrying situation for Spurs.
{Ed001's Note - I bet that made you smile typing that!}

I don't see Spurs going down; Wolves and Burnley are done for; probably joined by West Ham.

I can't see it either, though it would be entertaining. They'd be in big, big trouble unless they bounce straight back up and generate huge revenue.

I did have a little smile ED01
