I would take a lot of convincing that Xavi Hernandez is the right choice as our next manager.

If you don't mind me asking Ed, what is your opinion of him as a manager?

{Ed001's Note - I don't have one as I have no idea what he is like as one. His name always crops up, but I have never seen a team managed by him even play. I am not sure why his name always comes up. It seems odd as, despite winning a league, his reputation is not particularly good. It is also strange that he never got another job after Barca. Something is off about him, otherwise he would have got another job before now.

While I was managing Barca, I had gone to the Philippines and it was difficult to watch the footie there. Which is why I have so much sympathy with Melbourne, as it killed me getting up at 3/4am to watch matches. Though in the Philippines it was more difficult as they are not big on footie so the coverage was awful. Half the time the app wouldn't work, so you would either stay up late or get up at stupid o'clock and not be able to watch anything anyway!}

Tom

He has no Prem League experience, so that would rule him out.

ED01, this is the current market on who might replace Rosenior, who would be your pick?

Former Chelsea full-back Filipe Luis, who spent one season at Stamford Bridge, is amongst the early favourites for the role after being fired by Flamengo despite winning four trophies in 18 months there. Longtime Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is also in the frame to be the new manager at Stamford Bridge.

Andoni Iraola is amongst the favourites after announcing he will be leaving Bournemouth at the end of the season and could be tempted to stay in the Premier League. The move would come in the summer after Calum McFarlane was installed as interim head coach and led them to the FA Cup final. However, with the Blues being thumped at home by relegation candidates Nottingham Forest, his days could be numbered before the end of the season too.

Xabi Alonso is also right up there in the betting market after being sacked by Real Madrid in January, but the question remains whether the Spaniard would want to go from one unstable club to another.

There are a number of intriguing names on the market at present with the Premier League club also considering familiar names. Oliver Glasner, Xavi, Cesc Fabregas and Frank Lampard are towards the top of the betting markets, with Lampard potentially in line for a third managerial spell at the club if he decides to leave Coventry

{Ed001's Note - I want Iraola for Liverpool, so that probably answers it! I think he would be ideal for the way Chelsea want to work as well. He doesn't have anything to do with transfers, just wants to coach. His players will run through brick walls for him and he plays really good high intensity attacking footie.

I would not consider Simeone as he speaks no English and doesn't have any interest in moving - he is the highest paid manager in the world and the only job he would choose to move to is Inter, as he would like to manage them. Other than that, any job is just going to be about earning even more money, so not exactly what you want in terms of motivation.

Glasner is a prick and falls out with everyone, throws his toys out of the pram constantly and will complain about anything and everything. He would not suit Chelsea. Plus, like Simeone, his football is dire.

I don't know enough about Luis or Xavi to have any opinion on them sorry.

Cesc would worry me, he seems to favour older players and that is not the direction you are going. Added to that, he is a shareholder in Como so I would be worried about conflicts of interest etc.

Xabi I loved as a player, he worked wonders at Neverkusen and he should have learnt a fair bit about player power at Madrid. I would think if he was taking it on, it would be on his own terms and he would not want players messing about the way Enzo is doing. That would be a good thing I think, so he looks a decent choice too.

Lampard is an interesting one. He has rebuilt his rep completely with Coventry but I think he would be better, for his own sake, to spend a season more with them, at least, in the Prem.

So for me - Iraola would be number one and Alonso 2. I would want to look into Xavi and Luis though before making a final decision if I was actually involved.}

I know, Tom, that's why I believe Hoeness is not in the running.

Thanks ED01

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate.}

Thanks for your opinion Ed, much appreciated.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome Tom.}

Ed001 thank you for your insight. I think most of our supporters would be happy to with either Iraola or Alonso.
However I doubt whether either of them will take the job.There is also the issue of Man U, I doubt whether the job will be given to Carrick; they too will be looking for a top coach as may Liverpool. Liverpool and Man United have had a disappointing season but both will qualify for the Champions League.

Also, both clubs have ambitions to win trophies. The same can't be said of us. What can we offer: a bunch of Stoges making decisions: a squad full of prima donas who get outrun in every game when they're not out injured.
Obviously, I hope I'm wrong but

{Ed001's Note - that's why you need someone like Alonso or Iraola who expect hard work first and foremost.}
