Obviously not Chelsea related but tonight’s game does beg some questions.
1) I thought it was a foul but the ref didn’t give it.
2) The ref didn’t give it on the pitch and I assume VAR were not sure, so referred it to the ref. He takes an age to make a decision. For me, that process does not suggest a clear and obvious error has taken place.
3) From that corner there was no check on Rice rugby tackling a happy hammers player behind the scramble.
It was a VAR decision that could well give the Gooners the title, save the spuds and relegate the happy hammers.
I am not a fan of VAR other than goal line calls, so I admit to being biased.
I hope we stuff the spuds and it helps keep the happy hammers up!

Tom
Officials did not know the meaning of "clear and obvious".
I have felt for some time now that Howard Webb should have been sacked.

Bill, this will sound bonkers, but if we didn't have VAR, I think the ref gives a foul. The fact we have VAR gives us a get-out-of-jail-free card.
Also, if you have got VAR, why not check for the pen against Rice? Unless they say that happens after the foul?

How many times during each Arsenal game do they get away with the same or similar actions, also don't get me started on Arteta being out of his area every game. Sometimes he is playing on the wing for Arsenal and yet no action from the so-called incompetent officials, and what's more, the VAR, let's say person just to keep it polite, is refereeing our cup final.
