Hi Ed, do you expect Man U to pay what Chelsea want for Mount, or somewhere acceptable.
Read stories that Poch really wants to keep Mount, so could another contract offer be available or is his time up, I know you've said the club are 'really miffed' by him.

{Ed002's Note - The money is of no consequence to me but they should be able to strike a deal.}

Thabks Ed. Do you think Mount just wants to be paid what he thinks he's worth or does he fancy being at another club?

{Ed002's Note - The focus has been on money.}

Really frustrating to hear that, Ed has said previously we’ve made a significant offer and yet he’d rather leave for a bit more rather than stay and kick on with the club he’s been at since he was a kid.

{Ed002's Note - It is not a bit more money he wants.}

Would the sale of so many players and reducing the wage bill, that chelsea could offer him what he wants or has that ship sailed.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea are not going to be held to ransom.}

Thank you for your replies Ed, just a shame a homegrown lad that's been there since he was a kid would have a bit more loyalty.
Thanks for your input and knowledge.

There is very little loyalty in football. Mount has burnt his bridges with Chelsea : let’s just get the deal done and move on:£55 million seems reasonable for a player with no be year left on his contract.

{Ed002's Note - This is rubbish -is every player the pub signs disloyal,}

23 Jun 2023 21:02:51
Totally disagree with you Jimbo on this. There are plenty of loyal players in football.

23 Jun 2023 21:50:28
G8, that’s fine we disagree As for Mount I wasn’t accusing him of being disloyal, he is entitled to ask for a specific contract, the club are entitled to stand by their offer. The point I was trying to make is that if he’s going, let’s get on with it.

8.) 23 Jun 2023

I read that mount was on about 90k per week amd wanted what others like James and pulisic had been on which was in the 200k region. So you can understand him wanting more if he's been a Chelsea lad and felt undervalued.

Yerman that's my main question. If it's just the money, I feel like we could have made him feel more valued. All the other teams are offering mount what he thinks he's worth so he must be worth it. Thanks again.

To me it’s not about loyalty as to them it’s a day to day job like the rest of us have there just better paid. If he wants to leave collectively as a club pick a figure and sell him for that figure simply as. Don’t be to greedy as I think £55million for mount is a steel and we should take it.

11.) 24 Jun 2023
24 Jun 2023 08:07:33
Nibb, I think if Utd get him for £55 mil that’s a steal.

I imagine that all the parties concerned will be putting briefings out to the press. So, I’m going to ignore all the noise.

If the club have a figure in mind, I would suggest they stick to it.

If we start playing well next season and he can see the potential of playing under Poch there is nothing to stop him signing a new contract during the season.

Mount should just be polite to all parties and remember the vast majority of fans at our club value him and don’t want him to leave.

Also, most fan’s understand he has every right to negotiate the best contract he can get from any club and that includes ours.

12.) 24 Jun 2023
24 Jun 2023 09:20:51
Tom, I think £55 million is a fair price for a player with one year left on his contract. I don’t think the contract issues can be resolved. I don’t believe the vast majority of fans want him to stay, I would suggest most are indifferent and bored with it all.

13.) 24 Jun 2023
24 Jun 2023 09:27:57
I get that Tom he doesn’t want to be at the club they have offered him a good contract he wants more surely it’s not all about money is it, of course it is he’s not bothered about playing for Chelsea he wants more money 150/ 200 thousand a week must not be enough for him to live on. Get him gone.

14.) 24 Jun 2023
24 Jun 2023 16:10:04
Jimbo, Nibb, all we know is that the club has made an offer it considers to be reasonable and fair and that is fair.

He wants more because he thinks he deserves it.
That doesn’t make him disloyal.

I honestly believe the vast majority of fans would prefer him to stay but if we can’t satisfy his demands then so be it.

Not me tomb I'm more gutted havertz is leaving I think he will be brilliant at arsenal we never saw the real kia always played out of position.

16.) 25 Jun 2023
25 Jun 2023 16:00:16
gola, your dislike of Mount has been consistent over many seasons that your apathy toward him leaving is hardly surprising.

I to feel uncomfortable with Havertz going to the gooners. I also agree that it’s a shame we didn’t see enough of him in what I think is his best position.

17.) 26 Jun 2023
26 Jun 2023 09:10:46
I never said disloyal I said its just a day to day job to them and the boy wants more money and we don’t value him at the money he wants so get him gone. We’re fans of Chelsea if I was offered 100 grand a week to play for Chelsea and Madrid come in for me and offered me 150 grand I would stop a Chelsea because it’s the club you love. Mount doesn’t give a rats arse about the club he wants money and he wants out so let chelsea give him the out bit.

18.) 26 Jun 2023
26 Jun 2023 10:54:48
I have never stayed at any company, even the ones I liked, for less money than I thought I was worth or offered.

I can’t see it being much different as a footballer.

My guess is he does “give a rats arse” as you so eloquently put it but maybe in his own mind he thinks he thinks the club don’t value him. I take the view that the club have made what it considers to be a fair offer. Mount not thinking that the offer is reasonable doesn’t bother me at all. He is entitled to ask for whatever he wants or he thinks he deserves.

I’m a supporter so I will nearly always take the side of the club over a player but I do not trust any of the media briefings from any of the interested parties.

19.) 26 Jun 2023
26 Jun 2023 13:19:53
That’s the line Tom ask for whatever he wants or thinks he deserves, That’s where the problem lies should let his football do the talking and this year to be fair he wasn’t great like many of them as well.

20.) 26 Jun 2023
26 Jun 2023 13:49:25
Nib, the fact that you didn’t use the term “disloyal” bug then go onto say the player “doesn’t give a rats arse”, is saying the same thing in my book and that
Is without any proof other than him not wanting to sign a contract under the terms the club have offered him.

That doesn’t make him “disloyal” or mean “he doesn’t give a rats arse”. It just means he thinks he deserves better terms.

Even though last season he seemed to get a lot of injuries his general performances, along with many others, was way below what he had achieved in the previous two seasons. That may well have influenced the club in what it’s offering him but my guess is he thinks he should be judged on his total body of play through his current contractual period and I sort of get that.

I’m sure he is going to leave anyway so it’s all irrelevant but I think it’s a mistake and one I hope we don’t regret.

21.) 26 Jun 2023
26 Jun 2023 23:02:58
The club won’t regret it they have offered what they think he’s worth and like Ed said a very good offer but the young man’s greed has taken over. It happens a lot with players their friends agents blow smoke up their arses and tell them they’re great but really the agents just want the money just like the players that follow their agents advise. We should hold off for the best price now that its dragging on and get what we can do for the best of the club.

22.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 04:49:10
I have no idea what the details are of the offer made to Mount.

I would assume the Club think it’s a fair offer and I assume Mount thinks it isn’t.

A player getting what he thinks he is worth does sound like “greed” to me and I am not going to point fingers at any party without knowing more information.

Obviously, if the club are going to sell any player it should get the best deal it can.

23.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 06:03:52
That should be “doesn’t”. Sorry should have checked.
