Mason Mount is the captain, clearly the player divides opinion from Chelsea fans. I wonder, how the others in the team take the news.

Havertz misses out again, he plays 1 game and misses the next, he comes on for the last 15 mins. This won't work for the players confidence. He won't flourish under Lampard's management. Many others are in a smiliar position hence we are seeing lacklustre performances regularly.

Mason deserves his starting position.

I would have loved to see Havertz start instead of Tammy, but he will get game time nonetheless.

It's a good line up and I like the different formation as well.

He's demonstrating leadership on the pitch with his performances and effort, and seems a popular member of the group. I'm really pleased to see him get the armband.

I think there's an argument for saying playing Havertz when he's out of form won't improve his confidence, let him have 20-30mins here and there. A few positive cameos could start to get his confidence back.

Who would I have preferred? I would have preferred a natural leader in the side.

He has 2 goals and 1 assist from open play. I can't defend this type of stats especially when Kai is being benched week in week out. Its pathetic. That has never been or will be a stat to be proud of from a player that is being played as our main midfielder.

Jack Grealish, Maddison, Foden are players he should be competing with from an end product. I won't mention any others. Just look at the stats for assists and goals in the PL. Far too many players that are making a big impact in the final 3rd to even mention.

You are comparing mount to players who play a lot further forward. My question on the discussion page stands. Who would you have made captain and why?
