I have just read on Fabrizio Romano's page that Maatsen is keen to stay at Dortmund so I would expect that is all but over and a new left back to come in if Cucurella is available too. Albeit he's improved a lot I'd prefer to let Chilly go as he's never reliable and not been the same in a back four.
I have tried searching this and other teams pages as I'm quite new to this site but did one one of the Ed's say Balde is 1st choice of Barcelona if someone could help? Sorry I can't seem to find it on the page.
I've also read interest in Kerkez of Bournemouth and a lad at Brest called Locko reading up Locko and this seasons performances he could definitely be another Gusto type signing he's a well rounded left back.

Although IM wants to stay, I'm not sure Dortmond can afford/ will want to pay the fee quoted by us.
2.) 18 Apr 2024 23:06:03
I have also seen Bayern are interested but maybe wrong.
3.) 19 Apr 2024 01:27:47
Yeah potential Davies replacement for Bayern. I do believe Balde is first choice and it was on the Utd page. I think Cucu could end up at either Utd or Atletico depending on what they’re willing to pay.

Maatsen to villa 37.5m is a very strong fee. I rate him but he's not pulled up a lot of trees when given minutes.
I hope we go for Calafiori as a hybrid CB/ LB now.
1.) 19 Jun 2024 22:15:02
Pretty sure Villa will be a better team next season with Maatsen. I'm sorry to see him go, personally, and don't think he was given enough minutes to really make an impression. Good luck to him.
2.) 20 Jun 2024 00:42:11
I’m just sad that he was never really given a true chance in his actual position. He was always played as a winger by poch. which certainly isn’t where I would have played him. Good luck to the lad - just not vs us.
3.) 20 Jun 2024 07:26:47
Good luck to the lad.
4.) 20 Jun 2024 11:21:02
Also sorry to see him go before we had really seen him given much of a chance on the pitch for us but yes will sish him all the best except when we play Villa and he scores the winner!
5.) 20 Jun 2024 12:08:33
So obviously going to happen isn't it.
17 Jun 2024 09:46:04
Watching the Italy game and Calafiori is a proper defender I don't see one weakness in his game. Strong in the air on the ground and passing the ball. Heard great things about him before but never actually watched him.
Read he was going to Juve but really hope we can go for him he'd be a great hybrid LB/ CB for us.
01 Jun 2024 17:43:02
Tosin is a great signing on a free I just hope Trev doesn't leave now. As much as I love Fofana I would happily move him on as he has injury after injury. I hope we target one more with Silva leaving preferably a top class one. Bastoni or Calafiori would be my choices.
1.) 01 Jun 2024 19:44:01
I have to agree that it is a very sensible signing to compliment our squad hopefully more low fee signings this window.
2.) 01 Jun 2024 19:51:38
Don't know a lot about him really but at 6 foot 5 that gives us a presence at the back. Anyone know much about him?
3.) 01 Jun 2024 21:02:03
I seem to remember him playing again us a couple of times and he looked solid enough.
Good right peg but maybe goes to ground a bit to quick but likes a challenge. Not rapid but quick enough.
4.) 01 Jun 2024 22:25:31
I don’t want it to seem slagging off players,
Tosin, free transfer is a good deal, is he better than trev, well statistically he is, disasi is also better statistically, but we all love trev, his home grown, id prefer disasi moved on before trev but the common sense kicks in and trev st £25m ish has a lot more interest than disasi / badisahlle / fofana / colwill.
5.) 02 Jun 2024 12:16:47
I think there would be a lot of interest in Colwill and I think if Chalaboa does leave the fee will be closer to £35m, with Utd close to the top of the interested clubs.

Would love to be the first team to complete the set and win the Europa Conference League.
The final is in Wroclaw, Poland too which is a beautiful city.
1.) 25 May 2024 18:18:58
Hard to get excited by the Conference League. prize money c 2 million pounds pkus entry to Uefa league. surely a distraction from main target that has to be top 4 and will mean endless Sunday games.
But yes if we can be coasting towards top 4 then a trip to Wroclaw might be fun I suppose.
2.) 25 May 2024 21:50:54
This is just from memory bug I think West Ham got €12.5m for wining the trophy and €3.5m as a starter for qualifying for the Europa the next season.
3.) 25 May 2024 22:12:41
Tom, its not about the money, it's just a tin pot competition that's not worth the time and effort.
It's only good to blood our 17 and 18 year old and our first team squad should be no where near this competition.
4.) 26 May 2024 08:20:26
Yes you're right Tom 2 million for winning plus an extra 10 million from TV rights money thst could go towards Poch payoff of contract. but point is that Top 4 EPL must surely be priority.
5.) 26 May 2024 09:02:35
For me it’s more important than the league cup.
6.) 26 May 2024 10:45:46
There is a also the possibility of interesting away trips to tjhe likes of the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Andorra, North Macedonia or Azerbaija. More exotic than to Peterbrough, Barrow or Crawley though given the state of Brit ralways it could take even longer to get there.
7.) 26 May 2024 11:17:20
Tom
For me it's below the charity shield, it's that worthless and at least the charity shield is for good causes.
All it is to ensure EUFA make more money from sponserhios and broadcasting.
It's noticeable Brand Jordon also agree.
8.) 26 May 2024 12:42:50
Bill, we can’t do anything about it now so we just have to make the best of a bad job.
These players need to win competitions and if that is the start of a cup winning habit that’s fine with me.
9.) 26 May 2024 13:10:28
Tom
It's a complete nonsense competition and and even if we win it, it's not worth winning.
As I have said previously it will only be good to give our 17 and 18 year olds experience.
10.) 26 May 2024 16:54:04
It is worth winning just short of €20m and a place in the Europa League. Putting aside it’s more silverware.
11.) 26 May 2024 18:06:32
Im quite up for the Europa conference league always up for going somewhere we haven’t been before and like Barnet Nige says we can create history.
12.) 26 May 2024 18:13:23
I’d love Tromso away again. Some away day that was.
13.) 26 May 2024 19:06:19
I would say that after my predictions of finishing in the top 8 this year was tested at times but only helped by other teams being extremely poor the back end of the season.
So this year it has to be a minium of 5th place and hopefully another final. Being better placed to win after our failings this season.
I get that some don't see the ECL attractive. But it gives us a good chance of winning and building a winning mentality again.
And as some have said gives you straight qualification to minium Europa league the season after.
And if you say you don't care about the money. If it's true you get about 20mil then please don't moan about the club spending a billion pound. Because as quoted "It's not about the money"
14.) 26 May 2024 19:18:12
Brilliant fans.
Was it them who had a player with one arm?
15.) 26 May 2024 19:53:56
I think it’s a decent comp for these youngsters to play in, possibly win it then we really ah e won it all. Then champs league next season happy days.
24 May 2024 18:16:09
Just read McKenna will wait on United before Chelsea. That's one definite red flag for the board we don't want to be 2nd choice especially for a championship manager.
Really hope we pull something out of nowhere for new manager as I'm very underwhelmed and disappointed right now. May as well have kept Poch.
1.) 24 May 2024 18:37:02
Mckenna has obviously got United ties and is clearly going to leave Ipswich it's an easy jump for journos to make no idea if it's true. Before appointing anyone would see if Xavi would be interested, agree that there are no managers out there that give me a great deal of confidence.
Should of done more to keep Poch but he wanted to go.
2.) 24 May 2024 23:18:07
Xavi ? what has happened to this club.
3.) 25 May 2024 00:09:11
Not disagreeing with you standard the days of having the top manager has gone for a while, who would you choose?
Agree xavi not ideal but would rather him than the Leicester guy or Mckenna not sure there are many top managers around.
4.) 25 May 2024 04:05:34
Mourinho. Players need a manager who's not going to be nice guy, and will get what's expected from them. He's the onlu choice for me.
5.) 25 May 2024 08:06:31
Nope, Pep did that at City and so we got Palmer, who has been and will be great for us.
Times are a changing!
6.) 25 May 2024 08:35:26
Standard where we're we when Mourhino was sacked last time out and that wad with experienced players.
7.) 25 May 2024 09:42:58
Player power where players downed tools. I would have backed him and got rid of the players who didn't want to play for him. There were a few 'snakes' that season, I think the players were referred too as.
Mourinho is chelsea. He's the obvious, and best suited candidate. But with the owners and there 'advisors' I've lost a whole lot of faith.
8.) 25 May 2024 15:31:48
The report on Jose that came out when he left was as follows.
He was asked how he was going to turn things around and his reply was “i don’t know. ” He then got sacked.
I’ve never been sure if that is a true report or just more media crap.
I have not got a clue who the “snakes” were and I doubt any poster has a clue who they were either.
9.) 25 May 2024 17:52:47
I will prefer unai emery. Mou will discard the young players that like what he did in his second coming, might come back to bite us. Fear is will he trade a champions league for the conference league justforthe jump. proven epl coach.
23 Jun 2024 11:19:24
He’s bang average from when I’ve watched him. I thought we were after a target man bully up top with an aerial presence. David is the complete opposite.
11 Jun 2024 10:26:41
I would go for Guirassy as long as he hadn’t already agreed with Dortmund. At a reported 17m buyout clause it’s a no brainer. Reassess the market next summer. Hopefully Jackson improves also.,
04 Jun 2024 10:25:50
He’s very good and his upside potential is massive. It’s hard to describe him but if I had to pick I’d see he’s similar to Giroud but with pace. Sesko’s good in the air for a striker something which Jackson doesn’t have yet.
04 Jun 2024 20:27:25
Cheers Ed. Would much rather Sesko and Olise for the price of Osimhen. Along with Tosin that would be great business.
04 Jun 2024 05:58:43
Don’t believe everything you hear celery or you won’t give poor Ed a break the amount of questions you ask him. Tosin was free also. Every premier league team has a couple of players ready for big clubs.
Palace being one with Eze and Olise.
22 Jun 2024 08:00:02
Their football knowledge is very limited! I mean why do you talk down to people on this site, G8?
Other than that, I do like Cucurella.
13 Jun 2024 23:34:51
Albeit only murmurs from what I’ve been reading but it seems Olise would prefer to stay in London. Not to mention he has stated he would like to be near his brother at Chelsea which I think gives us the upper hand but nothing done yet.
13 Jun 2024 23:33:45
I’m sure he’ll still find a way to criticise your comment lol.
12 Jun 2024 16:13:03
Laughing at you’re own posts is really poor Poch empire.
12 Jun 2024 16:12:32
He’s not my choice it would’ve been Sesko but I hope he proves me wrong the way Palmer did as no one expected that.
