Hi Ed. I was wondering if you would perhaps shine a light on Barkley and the plan's we've got for him? In my opinion he isn't good enough for us, seems too unprofessional and with RLC coming back and Gallagher perhaps getting a chance next season, I can't see the reason in him staying - at least after the summer.
So yeah, just wondering if you can tell anything about our plans with him? :)

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any "plans" being in place with respect to Ross Barkley but there have been two recent incidents that are completely unprofessional, and that is something the club take very seriously. When he arrived at Chelsea he came with the reputation of being a bonehead and someone took responsibility for making sure that was in the past - and until recently he has behaved reasonably well. That situation has now changed and, as you say, with others (including Gallagher and Loftus-Cheek) who will be looking for a chance next season his opportunities may well be reducing and Chelsea will listen to any offers.}

1.) 01 Dec 2019 18:38:39
Thanks Ed2. Brilliant insight.

2.) 01 Dec 2019 20:07:11
Yeah thanks a lot!

3.) 01 Dec 2019 20:11:44
It’s always a shame and it certainly frustrates other players and fans who haven’t got his sort talent. It’s such a waist. I hope he can turn it around.

4.) 01 Dec 2019 23:05:25
He's going to look back on his career with so much regret. He could have been special. A top prospect who hasn't even scraped the barrel of what he could have offered.

5.) 01 Dec 2019 23:31:39
Good question emill took a punt on him not sure it's worked out shamne really
And if someone else had taken that pen.

24 May 2018 17:02:42
Poch has just signed an extension. Guess he was never really an option, but no doubt he'd been an excellent choice. Really hope clearance is provided soon!

18 May 2018 11:46:56
Could any of you Eds perhaps shed a light on what happened Wednesday night in regards to Chelsea's managerial situation? Would be highly appreciated!

{Ed001's Note - no sorry, I don't know.}

1.) 18 May 2018 16:04:00
Fair, one cannot know everything ;)

{Ed001's Note - sadly no. I wish I could though!}

2.) 18 May 2018 20:03:47
Apparently it could seriously be Poch to Chelsea. I'd be very surprised and confused though.

3.) 19 May 2018 09:59:29
Where did you hear the from Jackson?

4.) 19 May 2018 19:11:55
Apparently some guy claims it on twitter. Probably not true, but it's strange that it's even being touted as a possibility.

10 Mar 2018 18:22:22
We definately need to start Zappa against Barca! Always gives his all, and quite a threat offensively, too!

1.) 11 Mar 2018 09:25:22
agree . I prefer him too. not as physically strong but for me can offer more. more games he plays the more consistent and better he will get.

28 May 2017 12:07:05
Hey ED. I'm not sure if this is one of the questions that you don't like, but hopefully that isn't the case - at least, it isn't my intention to waste your time. But seeing how other teams such as City and United are already bringing in some solid reenforcements, could you perhaps provide some information about Chelsea nearing any deals? Perhaps drop a few names as Well? I understand if it's not possible, I was just hoping for some Nice updates after yesterday's dissapointment!
Regardless - you have yourself a nice Day - take Care!

{Ed002's Note - There is no way for me to try and anser questions about the ti,img of transfers.}

1.) 28 May 2017 14:01:43
Okay, I understand - and Sorry to bother, I'just struck by some mean hangovers and thought you might have some uplifting news 😉.

{Ed002's Note - There is always uplifting news Emil - summer is just about here, the butterflies are out.....}

2.) 28 May 2017 16:23:08
News of Bakayoko and Naby Keita signing for Chelsea would be more welcome than 30 degrees outside while I have to prepare for exams though :P.

Guys obviously a lot of rumours are going around right now.
I'm no saint myself and have definitely been asking the Eds a lot of questions, but let's try to at least check if the same questions that we ask, have been dealt with recently!
We don't want to be scaring away the Eds from our site again;)

10 Jul 2020 16:53:09
I refrained from posting last night out of pure experience that nothing good rarely happens when you're angered.
I would just like to mention that I one week ago said that United were lucky in a lot (! ) of situations with decisions going their way most of the time.
However, last night was absolutely disgraceful from the officials. I'm not saying that they wouldn't have won if they didn't get that penalty - because they probably would have - but you never know. And, in my opinion, the amount of controversial decisions that have gone in their favor is much higher than other clubs, and they're very close to breaking the record for most penalties in a season.
I'm sure there's nothing too suspicious going on, but I really do find it shocking how lucky they are at times. I'd find it really, really unfair if they end in the top 4.

1.) 10 Jul 2020 19:42:43
What a lot of twaddle. How about the penalty we gave away isn’t he last game that wasn’t a penalty? You see what you want to see. Last nights was not a penalty but officials got penalty decisions wrong in all 3 games so your insinuated conspiracy theory goes out the window.

If we get top 4 we will deserve it, and I think we will finish 3rd with Chelsea 4th. Wherever you finish, you deserve it. Put your toys back in your pram.

2.) 10 Jul 2020 20:39:16
Bruno Pernandes did another form of diving yesterday in the Villa penalty box. A form that hasn't been witnessed before. Not only did it bamboozle the ref and VAR but it had a long lasting effect on Villa until the end.

I wonder what the final position would have been had penalties not been given out like hot cakes?

3.) 10 Jul 2020 20:56:46
Rearrange these words. Straws, at, clutching. Just because you feel our hot breath on your sweaty necks doesn’t mean you have to start bleating, I think we will both make top 4. Your obsession with the perceived favouritism for United is hilarious.

I think Frank has done a stunning job, I like him as a bloke and I hope the owner sticks with him as I think he will grow into the role and do well for you. We should both step up next year and hopefully give the current big 2 some competition.

4.) 10 Jul 2020 21:58:25
I wasn’t going to post on this site for lots of reasons but the posts by AJH on this site and the Utd site have just shown me how embarrassing some posters can be.

Can I suggest AJH that you look at the UTD site and the posts referring to the injury to the Chelsea legend GC and Willian not putting the ball out of play. A decision the Palace manager publicly agreed with.

The decision to award your team a penalty against Villa was incompetence by at best an average referee made worse by the decision of a bloke locked away in a studio who not only should have said NO penalty, IMO he should have said the UTD player be given at least a yellow card.

Then, on top of all that your manager (seems like a nice bloke) says it was a foul and therefore a penalty. By all means, defend your players but he has just made himself sound and look stupid:

My guess is you will finish in the top four and that will be an achievement, my neck isn’t sweating about UTD, I’m more worried about the other UTD this weekend.

Get over people having negative views about the way your UTD are perceived. It happens to all successful clubs.

5.) 10 Jul 2020 22:43:39
Brilliant response TomB.

6.) 10 Jul 2020 22:56:18
Zzzzzz, yeah, you’re not worried, clearly.

{Ed047's Note - they don’t sound worried in the least and you just got proper owned! 🤦‍♂️

Why is it teams even have to be worried about you because you finally buy a decent player and beat the likes of BHA, Villa and Norwich.

How many times is it now since Fergie left that one or other of you have trotted out the “you must be worried about us” line.

7.) 10 Jul 2020 23:23:27
😆 Ed47 we are getting bored of that empty threat "you must be worried about us”. It's only a matter of time before they all sing the "ole out" tune again!

{Ed047's Note - It’s been there go to phrase for sooo long and they literally change like the wind Shak 🤦‍♂️🤣

8.) 11 Jul 2020 07:59:19
As I stated Ed some posters of all persuasions seem to enjoy embarrassing themselves.

I enjoy looking and on the odd occasion I have made comments on their site, as when I congratulated Liverpool posters and fans on winning the title. It’s also good to pick up information on players and potential signings.

All clubs have fans and posters who are blinkered and sometimes obsessed.

I’ve been reading the particular obsession by some Liverpool posters about the potential Man City ban with a smile on my face. No matter how many times Ed02 tries to correct their assumptions they just keep on digging.

04 Jul 2020 16:23:07
Can anyone explain to me how Rashford wasn't ruled offside at United's fourth goal? He looked to be clearly offside to me?
I Think it's amazing how many times United have been - in my opinion - favoured by VAR.

06 Jun 2020 12:11:01
What do you guys think we can expect from the remainder of the season?
I must admit that I'm a bit worried that we're going to miss out on that precious 4th spot. United really seemed to be starting to get in a nice flow with Fernandes doing really well.
I guess a positive thing is that players like Pulisic and RLC are hopefully fit, but I can't help but worry a bit if we're going to play Europa League next season.
Also, does anyone know the situation with Kante? I'm thinking whether he's training with the team again, whether he will be playing the remainder of the season and so on?

{Ed002's Note - Kante has an issue to deal with at the moment which is why he has had some time off.}

1.) 06 Jun 2020 12:49:29
I'm confident of a top 4 finish EmilSC, If we can beat Villa in the opening game and Utd drop points at Spurs the pressure on them will increase. Things shaping up nicely.

06 Apr 2020 10:17:35
With Willian and Pedro both looking almost certain to leave and Ziyech coming in, perhaps we should not be looking too far away for a new winger. With Ziyech poised to be part of the starting eleven and Pulisic and CHO both providing good competition, perhaps we should look at Kenedy as a suitable replacement for Pedro. Kenedy, I believe, used to play as a right winger back in Brazil, and - just like Pulisic and CHO (I don't know about Ziyech) - he should therefore be able to play on either side. I have always thought that Kenedy has performed decently for us whenever given the chance, so if he would want to prove that he can actually play for a club like Chelsea - even if just a substitute - it would be a great chance for him, I think.
The question remains, though, if he would want to be our backup. That I do not know, but what I do know is that I think he would be an adequate replacement for the wingers that are most likely leaving us, and sticking with him rather than buying a new player might save us some money?
What do you guys think? :)

1.) 06 Apr 2020 11:30:22
I think Willian may still stay EmilSC, he likes London and common sense says keep either one of Willian or Pedro. As you rightly say, Ziyech, Pulisic and Cho are top players and likely to be competing for 2 starting places. If Willian and Pedro do leave then Kenedy is a good shout though.

2.) 06 Apr 2020 12:33:06
Willian appears intent on sticking to his three year contract demand. He should be happy we offered two, but won't take it and will move on.

I think Pedro might stay to add experienced backup to the other three.

{Ed002's Note - Pedro is not staying and the situation with Willian is not as clear cut as you suggest.}

3.) 07 Apr 2020 09:44:59
Willian and Pedro out, sign Sancho our starting winger for 10 years with pulisic and Hudson-Odoi on the other wing. Simples.

4.) 07 Apr 2020 10:20:21
I don’t think Sancho will be joining us. I think we have done our wide player business.

I think there will be three players signed and at least two will be naturally left footed.

5.) 07 Apr 2020 12:27:27
I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Sancho have another year at Dortmund.

6.) 07 Apr 2020 12:30:53
Personally I'm looking forward to seeing teams trying to deal with Ziyech cutting in from the right whilst James overlaps.

If we can have Mount and / or Loftus-Cheek making well timed runs forward too then it's going to be an absolute nightmare for opposition defences.

That’s The issue; we took such a huge risk with Kepa and it didn’t pay off. I honestly don’t even see us get half of what we paid!

I don't know if the rumours about Havertz and Auoar are true. But if they are, wouldn't it be a bit overkill to go for more central midfielders or offensive players if we're getting Werner? We're already stacked with central midfielders also!
I think we're starting to get a very, very good squad if we get Werner over the line and sign a new LB!

Oh I am sorry if my message was misinterpreted!
What I meant was quite simply that yesterday some guys on this site were arguing who the first-choice left back was for the club, and I just found it a bit funny that you then mentioned "a lengthy list", perhaps adding some more fuel to what is a pretty irrelevant discussion :)
You don't have to post this or anything, just wanted to explain :)

{Ed002's Note - OK - but there is a long list.}

I honestly have no idea what you guys are talking about with Tammy starting over Big Oli. He’s been fantastic for us every single time we’ve played Liverpool and has been a huge physical presence. IMO he’s actually the first player I’d select for that game!

Not to take anything away from Zouma, Who I Think is our best CB and played really well today - but I can’t help but think of The situation with AC against city where he played so well, only to seem really bad the next few games.
But I really hope I’m wrong!

Sure seems that way!
Lately, I have thought about having Alaba behind Pulisic, it would really be a dream. In general, Alaba would be such a good signing with how versatile he is. Probably not realistic, but one can dream. :)
