Hazard's idol, Zidane is back at Madrid. Eds please can you tell us if Hazard will get his request to move to Madrid next summer.
Please who do Chelsea look at for the replacement? Cheers!

Freeborn

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with his childhood idol, but nothing has changed and he is one of the players they are keen on.}

1.) 12 Mar 2019 15:24:04
Does it even matter who we’re looking at as a replacement given we can’t sign anyone till summer 2020 at this rate? The biggest signing we could make this season would be keeping hold of him but that’s only going to be remotely possible if we secure champions league football.

31 Jan 2019 09:55:03
PSG submitted deadline day transfer for Willian according to Daily Mail to fill Neymar's void.
Ed do you know if we ready to sell?

Freeborn

{Ed001's Note - I believe Pulisic was signed to allow him to go in the summer.}

1.) 31 Jan 2019 10:56:10
ed so who is lined up to potentially replace eden and who else to replace odoi and to replace pedro? thanks.

{Ed001's Note - who says those replacements are lined up?}

2.) 31 Jan 2019 11:27:56
How can you replace a replace before it's even certain that he will leave?

3.) 31 Jan 2019 11:38:44
if they leave have to get someone in so have to be prepared.

4.) 31 Jan 2019 12:01:08
What do you guys think? I think we really need a bit of a clear out and this might be a good start. Would definitely be a blessing in disguise I feel also, if CHO gets more gametime because of this.

5.) 31 Jan 2019 12:26:59
Pepe from Lille or Fekir quality players.

6.) 31 Jan 2019 20:31:54
got CHO . will show we want him.

7.) 31 Jan 2019 20:34:12
well he is the future.

Any info regarding players going out this window. Things have gone quiet lately. From the turn rumors last week I suppose we should be hearing official transfer news about both incomings and outgoings.

I saw on the European page that Madrid would be happy to sell Bale for 60 euros or even less. I would take him at that. Opinions.

Freeborn

1.) 08 Jun 2019 15:30:32
Not for me thanks.

I think he would be overpriced at half that amount but it’s all about opinions!

2.) 08 Jun 2019 15:45:13
€60 Euros? He'll yeah i'll take that. Pay that and sell for €60m euros easily, think of the profit.

3.) 08 Jun 2019 18:07:30
With injuries, that'll work out at about 10m euros a game!

4.) 08 Jun 2019 23:45:14
Only way I would consider him is as a loan to allow the likes of Hudson-Odoi and Pulisic to develop. No way on earth I would pay a transfer fee and sign him to a long term contract considering his age and injury history.

Hi Ed, I believe we have been in the dark concerning happenings in the club since you left. All we have seen here are mere speculations and no substance from somebody in the know. Please can you clear some air in some areas you feel should bring us to speed.
Uncertainties loom large at Chelsea ranging from the transfer ban, future of some key players, future of the coach, Dof, potential incoming transfer targets, the future of RA especially after visa issues with the British government, and even the proposed stadium expansion.
It's fine if you are not disposed to discuss these at this time but I only feel we have missed a lot since you last updated us comprehensively.
Have a nice day.

Freeborn

{Ed002's Note - (a) Chelsea want FIFA to hear the appeal for the fine and the ban before the end of June, meaning regardless of the result they should be clear to conduct business in the summer - as if they lose they can request an arbitration hearing which will almost certainly suspend the ban. There is however a major issue still being dealt with. (b) There is nothing specific regarding players - some will leave in the summer regardless. (c) There is interest in Sarri from another side and Chelsea would not stand in his way if he wanted to leave. (d) There remain a couple of people that the club are interested in as Director of Football, but both need convincing and responsibilities to be made clear. (e) Mr Abramovic has rejected one offer for the club from Jim Ratcliffe in recent months and discussions about the tie up with another side will lead to a further offer being made. But yes, the issue with the government persecuting Mr Abramovic and six others is causing a lot of problems. (f) The redevelopment of the stadium is an entirely separate matter and unrelated to all of this.}

1.) 19 Mar 2019 11:11:33
All of these sorted out could make the club head in the right direction again. We need more Chelsea past players within the club. Ballack for me should be DOF immediately and can at least plan for the future. If Sarri does leave I wouldn’t be bothered but I’d like Steve Holland in charge with perhaps Morris as his assistant. The club has been a shambles since he left. It’s too early for Frank let him learn his trade. I’d love Ballack in as DOF then I’d like to see us try quality again. The likes of Jovic, Pepe, Skriniar and Mendy would be my picks.

2.) 19 Mar 2019 11:17:42
Can't thank you enough for your updates. Cheers.

3.) 19 Mar 2019 11:48:25
Very good to get this info Ed002 much appreciated. Will obviously much hope that the FIFA appeal will be held before end of June and that the other serious matters will have a positive resolution.

{Ed002's Note - The club and The FA have both requested FIFA to do that.}

4.) 19 Mar 2019 11:59:44
Thank you Ed002.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

5.) 19 Mar 2019 13:13:01
Great information there Ed002, thank you for that. I appreciate you have probably said as much as you can about the ownership situation so that might make my question above slightly redundant now.

6.) 19 Mar 2019 14:34:07
Cheers Ed.

7.) 19 Mar 2019 14:35:50
Thanks Ed002. Well apreciated.

8.) 19 Mar 2019 16:59:09
ed thanks for this, what do you mean tie up with another side will lead to another offer? will radcliffe make another offer or someone else and what tie up? thanks alot.

{Ed002's Note - You need to read the entire sentence, not part of it. There will be another offer from Jim R.}

9.) 19 Mar 2019 18:41:25
i see thanks ed, has roman got a price in mind he would accept? or does he not want to sell? thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea if Mr Abramovich "has a price in mind".}

10.) 19 Mar 2019 19:04:58
Thanks for that update ed002! Made my day! Can I ask why the FA have asked FIFA to make a promo decision on the ban? I can understand the club wanting a prompt decision, but I don't understand how it effects the FA.

{Ed002's Note - Because The FA were also punished and could get repeat fines if other clubs are punished for the same issue.}

11.) 19 Mar 2019 19:40:47
Are other clubs being investigated for the same issue? Or am I reading too much into it?

{Ed002's Note - Similar and related issues.}

12.) 19 Mar 2019 19:57:42
Thank you for the insight!

I will like to know if Chelsea is interested in Nabil Fekir either this window or in the summer. He's a very good player IMO and will get our attack linked up properly. Technically he's better than any of our attackers now. We all want CHO to remain and be a hit for us but if we are to replace him, I won't be bothered. After all he wants to leave.

Imo I feel that in as much we needed a striker to improve our team, I still think that sorting out the midfield is equally important. Aside then Moraga and Giroud not doing well enough in scoring, our transition from the midfield to attack is also not good enough. Jorginho/ Kante partnership is not the best. Even if you play Messi up top without proper supply he would struggle and could be a challenge to Higuain.

I felt excited about the news Leandro Paredes but unfortunately he's headed to PSG. Jorginho is meant to keep the team fluid by his distribution but they are never forward. Mostly he crumbs under pressure which the oppositions noticed. When he's taking out our team will be overrun. Maybe his first season but.

Good day Eds, please can you help us with the situation with Leandro Paredes. Reports are saying that PSG has won a match on Chelsea for the player.
Though I haven't watched him play but from his video footage he looks very good player and ideal for our immediate need. I will be gutted if he goes to PSG instead but club know what better.
Nice day.

1.) 24 Jan 2019 11:30:29
It is very obvious that Sarri will never ever drop his 'pet' Jorginho - so why would an established player like Paredes want to come to Chelsea just to get splinters in his backside!

2.) 24 Jan 2019 12:26:25
Do you not think when we get the right midfielders jorginho might click the two in front of him aren't ideal for the system not a criticism of kante he's my favourite player but he is playing in his wrong position just an idea.

3.) 24 Jan 2019 13:34:03
Its fans like MDW that get on your own players backs in matches and affects the the players confidence. Literal joke. Luiz has had to come out and explain why the criticism is unfair.

Pogba was slated right, left and centre by the media. He has been called a fraud etc. But majority of the utd fans stuck by him. They are reaping their rewards now. They never let the go whereas it would have been easy to do so.

Take a leaf out from their books mate and support your team and your players. For god sake his been in the league ONLY 4/ 5months. He started off superbly for the first 2/ 3months.

As soon as something goes wrong you get fans like you killing a players confidence. A bit of common sence would say Italy and England is two different leagues. Give a player chance.

4.) 24 Jan 2019 20:54:20
Watching the game now, 50th minute and Jorgihno is amazing.

5.) 24 Jan 2019 23:46:16
CFCShak, apart from finding your post supercilious and pathetic, I totally agree that Italy and England are two different leagues - and isn't that the problem.

Italian teams rarely press high, preferring to retreat into a defensive formation when they lose possession; this allowed Jorginho to control the game without pressure.

Because this system was new to the Prem, at the beginning of the season Jorginho was allowed time and space to control the tempo of the game - this is why, initially, he looked like a player; but the rest of the Prem soon caught onto that and now almost every team we play employs a high-press and crowds out Jorginho (see Arsenal last weekend) .

Unless Sarri begins to understand that Italian football and English football are different and tweaks his system substantially, he will rightfully be gone by the summer.

Ps I love Chelsea football club and it is shabby and offensive for you to suggest otherwise - CFCShak, are you so egotistical that you cannot see others may be right and that you may be wrong!

Leonardo Paredes is a player I would like us to sign. From what I have seen of, though little, he's very talented and will improve us and effectively replace Fabregas.

Freeborn

1.) 06 Jan 2019 13:06:29
Never heard of him myself, is he much of an improvment if Ampadu? Let’s not forget Fabregas has barely featured so I don’t think it’s worth spending big on someone with Ampadu already at the bridge.

2.) 06 Jan 2019 13:45:06
ampadu its a great kid definetly should replace fabregas as back up.

Personally I don't hate Sarri and I believe our squad strength is better than our results recently. I also know that he's been getting his formations and tactics wrong of late which is
Iapparent to everyone. Like I noticed from Mrs. Costa post, a little tweak here and there will do everybody good because it has become imperative.
We're all happy even though we lost to a very good city team because he heed to our obvious desire, changing formation from the usual and giving some players chance as well. In essence fans loyalty is to the club and not an individual player or coach as such love Sarri when he's doing it right but demand improvement when not.
However it should be noted that Sarri may be on the edge already. I still think that Spur's game might be very decisive for him. If we lose to Spurs then it might spell doom for him. Chelsea may have learnt from Mourinho last season that you have to do it early enough or lose out in top 4 race. That ultimately denies you revenue that would accrued therefrom.

I wouldn't mind bringing Conte back. I know it may not be a popular opinion but he's a winner and tactically better than this Wenger, with all due respect, we have now. From the outside it looked to me as if the club reneged on promise to Conte and lead to every other things that happened.
Bring Conte back, support him like Guardiola in the transfers and he will win trophies. I can't guarantee you that with Sarri, after all he never won a thing.

Forgive my insistence but I thought Chelsea had approached Zenith for Leandro Paredes? I'm really interested in this particular player because I feel he's ideal quality for our midfield needs.
Please share your thoughts as I heard PSG is also keen on the playet.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know about whether or not they made an approach, only that they are interested in him.}

I don't make decisions for the club but I will be pissed off if we fail to sign Paredes. He's the kind of player we need to often release the attacking players. He also has experience for his age.

Tom B I beg to disagree on sticking with Morata. I once stated here during the last summer transfer window that Chelsea should sell Morata before he loses significant value and many of us said give him more chance. The guy isn't good enough for what we look for in a striker. He's fragile both physically and mentally. Misses so many chances.
I support Chelsea which means supporting anybody and anything that promotes the club. The earlier we sell the better for us. Get in an effective striker and you will realize that it's missing piece in jigsaw.

I share your opinion on this. It's surprising how even some fans have lowered their standard with Chelsea nowadays. Such obsession with playing the youth. It's good if we can get some talents integrated into the first team over time but we must not stop chasing and sustaining success to remain a big club.

To some, the ban is a blessing because it will give the youth opportunity and all that. It will take us years back. Not only is the ban bad for the club in many other ways but it is coming at the worst time for Chelsea. Losing our best players and potentially losing our coach. This is a time our rivals are getting stronger. And we hope to make the top four and win some odd trophies according to many posters. IMO now is the time to strengthen the spine of the squad with quality players and complement with the youth who actually take their chances (ban frozen) . Chances should be given on merit of performance and not an entitlement.

Again we quickly turn to accountants in rationalising the adequate amount spent or to be spent on players even when we know nothing about details. I'm not interested in how much the club spend so long as the players perform and help our course in becoming the best. After all we became a big club by signing best and quality over quantity as is the case now. Except we have given up in winning like Arsenal did with Wenger, we must attract and sign a few of world class players. Big clubs and players do not play in europa. No big club rely on the youth to win them trophies. They complement until they have earned their place.

I still cherish the good old days and I want it back or we continue the decline.

Zola I disagree with you on this being the best possible result from our current squad. If Sarri had tweaked his approach earlier like Conte when results were negative, we would have been better off.
You only referenced Conte when he no longer cared because the board reneged to support his transfer. I wonder if you also remember his first season, title winning season. IMO I will rather have Conte than Sarri as a manager if both are supported transfer-wise. Conte is a winner and is more adaptable technically. IMO Sarri is just another kind of Wenger who believe football should be played in a particular way. Atimes method over result.
I will support Sarri if he remain our manager but won't be pained if he left.
