Based on what ed02 has said in the past about how transfers work, then I assume enquiries have been made behind the scene, to determine whether Pogba would be open to a move to Chelsea. Therefore it is up to Chelsea to convince Juve to sell the player, and I think that, maybe, that is where we have the advantage, because we have the money, and, we have the players that Juve want as part of any deal.

Chelsea made a bid of 75mil€ (55mil£) but it is not the number that could impress Juventus. Their representatives always express in public that Juventus only look for a record big or something similar. And they firmly express that Pogba will not for sale and will be off the market.

Beside that we offered Pogba the salary of 200k £ per week but his agents and advisors considered it was unworthy for his value.

IMO, Juventus will keep him and wait for the auction next year with the return of Barca (look for Innesta replacement) Real, PSG, Man City, Bayern. Pogba also will wait for a higher salary bid. Except Chelsea could meet the price Juventus want and the salary Pogba wants - mo deal will happen.

At the risk of getting slaughtered, I would prefer to give RLC some game time next to Matic and if things don't work out by January sign W.Carvello from sporting once he has got over his injury. We could effectively afford to sell Mikel and not replace him as we have a number of players who can play in CM: Cesc, Matic, Rami, Oscar and RLC. Wish we would be more adventurous and try RLC or Oscar in that role, push Cesc further forward and have more of a go at teams.
Also if this doesn't change how would people react to seeing Hazzard playing in the number 10 role and having Pedro and Willian on the wings? I think it would work a treat as he would give CB a nightmare forcing wingback stop push in and give to give them cover, freeing up space on the wings to attack down. Just a thought.

Can't see him getting offered much more than £200k a week anywhere. He's 'only' on about £8000 at the moment so that would be very hard to turn down from the players point of view

I wouldn't put more thought into the extremely speculative piece by Daton mate. €200k translates to a whole lot of euros and there isn't many players in world football on that kind of money.

I also wouldn't think Sporting will sell Cavalho on the cheap either, Blue. Pretty sure clubs were interestee but baulked at the price, if I remember what Ed002 said a while back.

As much as I'd love RLC to get a string of games, if you can get Pogba you do, even if it means RLC never makes it at the club. Players like him don't become available all to often. Ed002 has said all summer that Juventus are open to selling him, if a fee can be agreed, so I wouldn't pay attention to reports saying they don't want to sell. Its the amount that they want which may make it unachievable.

I think Chelsea has chosen it's timing wisely. Any earlier and other teams may have got involved, a bidding war. Late in the window most have done there business and barca can't get involved. Look for 2 more bids. I think Oscar and Ramires are missing for a reason. More to come!

The problem with bidding late in the window is that Juve have no time to find replacements.
