Some early reports that Drogba has ligament damage and will be out for upto 6 months. If this is true surely we can't go into the season with just Torres and Costa?

Go get cavani.

My thoughts exactly. Wouldn't complain about reus either!

Early reports as in the one generated from a fake Twitter account? I guarantee tgat's where Marca got their story from too.

Cavani isn't all that. With his price tag and wage demand I think not. He is average at best. Falcao, Bony, Hernandez or Firmino for me all better options and with a lot of games this season and also costa ibjury recors would get a lot of time to impress. Hernandez the best option for me.
Getting the winner at old trafford.

Herrrnandezzzzz!

The rumour came from a daily mail spoof account on twitter I think. I've heard that he'll be out for about 2 weeks.

Whatever the reports, my view is that it simply isn't wise and very strange given past couple of seasons to rely on Costa not getting injured, an ageing and possibly more injury prone as a result (I know I am!) Drogs, and low-scoring-in-league Torres. To win the league and compete on other fronts we surely need a reinforcement in this department.

Wilfred bony. Premier proven . Third of cavani price.

I guarantee that we will not be bringing in another striker without Torres leaving first, money and squad numbers prohibit it.
And anyway you are forgetting that Schurrle can play up front if need be, and so can Cesc (he has played there a lot for Barca and Spain).

I wouldn't want Cavani. But I do think there will only be a striker coming in if the club can move Torres to another club. IF (that's like the biggest if in the world) that happens, Bony would be my choice to replace him, been saying it for a while now.
