After the game three things frightened me and three made me really happy.

Frightened:
1. Every other team would look at that game and go " okay all we have to do is sit back and then go on a counter".

2. Look Howlong it took Jose to make changes he doesn't really seem to trust his bench and knowing what comes up during Christmas a bit of a worry.
Some of our lads looked burned out and we have the spuds coming Wednesday, okay I know it's at the bridge but still fresh legs are needed, Jose is the best would be happy to see how he handles this

3. No disrespect to Sunderland but if it was say a Newcastle or Westham heck even Stoke at the Britannia we got a point from I would have been happier. City would probably go their and win Arsenal did also but think Sunderland came with a plan and deserved their point if not three.

Jolly:
1. All the lads and Jose seemed bummed after the game like we had lost and not the first time I have seen it this season after a draw, that really shows the team is being drilled into having the winning mentality that champions have.

2. No matter how you look at it last season this is the sort of game we would have lost no doubt but we look a stronger and better side all round even when not in our best game.

, 3. Third clean sheet in a role can't complain about that one can you a clean sheet is always a good thing, hope we break the spuds in half.

All in all can't complain, need to stay focus.
Come on Chelsea! :)

Think I agree with you. Indeed, with the busy period that's now started a bit of rotation is going to be needed. Hopefully Luis can get a game as well as Schurrle perhaps.
Not too worried about Costa missing the Spurs game. I just hope Jose starts Remy. Normally Remy should be fine and we should get the 3 points. I don't know a lot about how Spurs are playing, but I'm confident in saying we should be the better team even without Costa.
However, if Jose doesn't really trust the bench then maybe there should be some investments made in squad depth.

Also didn't realise that Sunderland play City at home on Wednesday. Hopefully they can play the same way they did against us. I don't see a lot of teams scoring against them when they play like yesterday!

The worst worrying thing for me is nothing seemed to change at half time, if anything Sunderland looked the more dangerous especially on the counter attack. I would have brought Luis on at half time for Azpilicueta because at least he would provide an overlap and a different look for the Sunderland defence.

I hope Jose trusts Luis as I think he's a very useful player. He's a tenacious defender but is very skilled when with the ball at his feet. We'll see what Jose does next time.

As have said before, rotation/squad depth will become key in next few months. Brings us back to discussions some of us have had before eg after Shrewsbury game when TSO took of Schurrle and Salah at half time because looked v out of sorts. These are two players who when playing well can offer width and in Salah's case great pace to get in behind defenders. and we need to be able to rest/rotate Hazard/Oscar more than we have done.

So agree with Jackson that if TSO doesn't trust Schurrle to get back to best/Salah enough to give him more game time we will be in trouble unless squad depth added to in January.

And would indeed have likes Luis to have been given some game time yesterday, because he can get in behind defenders and can cross -- and when opposition have 10 men behind ball, full backs are needed to do this. One of our best chances was when Bran was put in in first half. Zabaletta frequently offering this for City. who are clearly still major threat in PL and still probably have bit stronger suqad in depth terms than we do. Just wish they didn't have Frank as well!
