Don't underestimate how good the potential signing of Timo Werner is.
I really didn't think we'd get him, and we still might not, but he is one of the best striker options for us. Offers something different to Abraham and Giroud, essentially being a potentially huge upgrade to Batshuayi.
Rather than having like for like replacements between Giroud and Abraham, Werner offers the opportunity of a strike partnership with either of them - adding to what at times this season has been a lackluster goal threat. He'll pull CB's into wide channels and, if used properly, he's pace will cause a lot of problems.
Getting Ziyech and now potentially Werner sorted so early is really great work by the club.

Also loves playing from the left drifting in. It’ll be so nice having someone on the wing who can score 20 goals a season. Be like that Drogba/ Anelka partnership again. ðŸ˜.

J, as you and fellow posters know I usually only comment on players I’ve seen with my own very old peepers bu in these very strange times I have taken to looking at players we have been linked with online.
To me, Werner looks an exceptional bit of business. He looks to have everything but I’m trying not to get excited until it’s all done and dusted.

I do fear the news Liverpool have matched our offer. Although, if money is a problem for them, our wages offer might have put an end to their interest.
I'm excited about our attacking threat for next season. Mount, Loftus-Cheek, Ziyech, Hudson-Odoi, Pulisic, Abraham, Giroud and potentially Werner all have goals in them.
We have such good options, and will create headaches for opposition defenders. I think you'll see regular changes of formation. Sometimes with one up top with a packed midfield and, at times where we need a goal or expect a lot of possession and time spent in the opposition's defensive third, two up top whilst keeping width.

I'm with you, TomB - trying to contain my excitement until I see Werner's signature on a contract.
If we do get him, I believe that it will be the best bit of business since Hazard.
But I have a sneaky feeling that Liverpool will gazump - I pray I'm wrong.
