Interested to know about opinions on this as I've read it a bit on here and twitter that people seem to favour a left footer as a new CB and can I ask why?
Yes it's nice for balance but what quality left footed centre back is available or gettable? The answer is none. Don't think Romagnoli is all that myself other wise he wouldn't still be at Milan. Ake is good but isn't quality.
Terry played LCB he was right footed. Vidic played LCB he was right footed. Van Dijk plays LCB he's right footed. My answer is as long as we can get a quality player there who is a leader does it matter? The answer is no because quality plays well whatever position they play in. That's why for me I think the focus should now turn to CB and LB and I'd like to see us go after Jose Gimenez from Atletico. He's 25 now a perfect age and the lads an absolute warrior because he's learnt a lot from Diego Godin. He's been unfortunate with injuries but I'm hoping that's past him now. Soyuncu would be another option because if were raiding Leicester it should be for him not Chilwell.
Just wanted to ask the Ed's there opinion on who would fit us best and if Gimenez might be attainable?

Also read it on here people seem fascinated with a left footer. Doesn’t have to be to play LCB.

We just need a dominant CB, it doesn't matter what footedness he is.
We need someone who just dominates in the air, a player who attacks every ball crossed into our box.
It's a shame Azpi isn't a little taller, as defensively he's our best defender in my opinion. He done a great job in a back 3 under Conte. But in a 2 CB formation he's just too short really.

That’s why I want Gimenez he’s just an animal. Just loves to defend no nonsense type which is what we desperately need.

I would much prefer a CB or any player to be two footed and JT was certainly good with both feet.
I just prefer a left back to be naturally left footed, a left sided CB to be left footed and if possible the left side of midfield to be a natural left footed.
I’m not dogmatic about it but it’s just something I would personally prefer. I think it gives the side a better balance.
I’ve also said that one brilliant foot is better than none!
